Start with the three pillars of Sikhi. Meditate on God name, make an honest living and offer selfless service. Do these three things everyday and your on a great start.

And wake up early in the morning for doing paath. 2 in the morning is the time majority Gursikhs get up for Amrit Vela and if you think that's too early then just build to it.

Go to sleep one hour before and wake up two hours earlier. So if the normal time for you to go to sleep is 11 then go to sleep at 10 and wake up at 6. YOu only need eight hours of sleep.

And you don't have to do it in one or two or three days. Gradually build to getting up at 2 and after your done your simran at AmritVela, some take a nap for half an hour or hour. When your starting off it's a good idea. This way if you go to sleep at 9, your still getting 5.5 to 6 hours of sleep which is more than enough. And your body will start adjusting to it and you won't even know the difference.

AmritVela is really important!!!!!
