Bow Gurdwara Arson Attack

I just want to bring attention to some information I was sent by the police regarding the grafitti on the wall which led some people to think that a gang (LFC) was responsible for the arson attack. Below is the reply from the inspector investigating the attack.

Thank you for your e-mail.

The graffiti on a nearby shop shutter was highlighted early in he investigation. Information from local shopkeepers and members of the public confirmed that the graffiti had been there since July 2008. Enquiries revealed that it apparently related to an incident involving school books being burnt by local pupils finishing school that year.

The graffiti was examined by a senior forensic practioner, who confirmed that the graffiti had been there for an extended length of time. This information has been previously been explained at meetings with the Sikh Community.

Please be assured that we continue to put a lot of time and effort into this investigation. Please do not believe some of the things written on the internet regarding the police not treating this seriously etc. We do understand the significance of this fire for the Sikh Community.

So according to this information, the grafitti by this gang was not related to the Gurdwara attack afterall. Has anyone else got any updates on the investigation?

The grafitti was on the shutter of a nearby shop. The actual attack happened in east london earlier this year in march if you don't already know.

police investigated and could not find anything, and declared the investigation officially closed.

well **** that. It aint closed.

Sikhs need to set up their own independant public inquiry into this.

There needs to be a meeting. A respectable sikh needs to be selected to write up all the findings.

Then sikhs need to look at all the findings and determine some conclusions as to who did this.

Theres a "Iraq war" inquiry set up by public with an appointed civil servant to publish his findings.

So why cant sikhs set up their own inquiry into the "BOW ATTACK".

But we need a Sikh body to officially back the inquiry.

If sikhs are in support of this then lets call a meeting to discuss this. We can also request the police to release all their findings relating to the attack for an independant sikh public inquiry.

I remember when it happened in march, we were all told to shuttup and let the police do their jobs and wait for their findings. Well we're at that point now. we're none the wiser. Time for sikhs to get to the bottom of it ourselves?
