Shabad Required

Waheguru jee ka khalsa Waheguru jee kee fateh,

Sangat jee if some one could please find a shabad with meaning " A son should always take care(look after) of his parents" / "Mata pita dee seva karni chahide hai"

There is a speech for some one i am helping with the above topic.

Please give direct reference of gurbani and ang if possible.

Apajasan mittant sat putreh ||

One's bad reputation is erased by a true son,

(Gathaa Mehla 5 at ang 1360 of Guru Granth Sahib ji)

"JO Mata pita di agya na manne so tankhahiya."

Meeting and mating of mother and father makes the mother

pregnant who becoming hopeful keeps the child in her womb.

ਰਸ ਕਸ ਖਾਇ ਨਿਲਜ ਹੋਇ ਛੁਹ ਛੁਹ ਧਰਣਿ ਧਰੈ ਪਗ ਧਾਰੇ ।

Ras kas khaai nilaj hoi chhuh chhuh dharani dharai pag dhaaray|

She enjoys edibles and unedibles without any inhibition and moves carefully with measured steps on the earth.

ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚਿ ਦਸ ਮਾਹ ਰਖਿ ਪੀੜਾ ਖਾਇ ਜਣੈ ਪੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ।

Pait viche das maah rakhe peerhaa khaai janai putu piaaray|

She gives birth to her dear son after bearing the pain of carrying

him in her womb for ten months.

ਜਣ ਕੈ ਪਾਲੈ ਕਸਟ ਕਰਿ ਖਾਨ ਪਾਨ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਜਮ ਸਾਰੇ ।

Jan kai paalai kasat kari khaan paan vichi sanjam saaray|

Having delivered, the mother nourishes the child and herself

remains moderate in eating and drinking.

ਗੁੜ੍ਹਤੀ ਦੇਇ ਪਿਆਲਿ ਦੁਧੁ ਘੁਟੀ ਵਟੀ ਦੇਇ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ।

Gurhhatee dayi piaali dudhu ghutee vatee dayi nihaaray|

Having ministered the customary first food, and milk,

she stares at him with deep love.

ਛਾਦਨੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਪੋਖਿਆ ਭਦਣਿ ਮੰਗਣਿ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ।

Chhaadanu bhojanu pokhiaa bhadani mangani parhhani chitaaray|

She thinks about his food, clothes, tonsure, betrothal, education etc.

ਪਾਂਧੇ ਪਾਸਿ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਖਟਿ ਲੁਟਾਇ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਚਿਆਰੇ ।

Paandhay paasi parhhaaiaa khati|utaai hoi suchiaaray|

Throwing handful of coins over his head and giving him a proper bath

she sends him to the teacher for education.

ਉਰਿਣਤ ਹੋਇ ਭਾਰੁ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੧੦॥

Urinat hoi bhaaru utaaray ॥10॥

This way she clears the debt (of her motherhood).

And now pauri 11 of vaar 33 of Bhai GURDAS JI:-

ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਨਦ ਵਿਚਿ ਪੁਤੈ ਦੀ ਕੁੜਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ ।

Maataa pitaa anad vichi putai dee kurhamaaee hoee|

Parents are happy that the betrothel ceremony of their son has

been solemnized.

ਰਹਸੀ ਅੰਗ ਨ ਮਾਵਈ ਗਾਵੈ ਸੋਹਿਲੜੇ ਸੁਖ ਸੋਈ ।

rahasee ang n maavaee gaavai sohilarhay sukh soee|

Mother becomes overjoyed and sings songs of happiness.

ਵਿਗਸੀ ਪੁਤ ਵਿਆਹਿਐ ਘੋੜੀ ਲਾਵਾਂ ਗਾਵ ਭਲੋਈ ।

Vigasee put viaahiai ghorhee|aavaan gaav bhaloee|

Singing eulogies of bridegroom, and praying for the welfare of

the couple she feels very happy that her son got married.

ਸੁਖਾਂ ਸੁਖੈ ਮਾਵੜੀ ਪੁਤੁ ਨੂੰਹ ਦਾ ਮੇਲ ਅਲੋਈ ।

Sukhaan sukhai maavarhee putu noonh daa mayl aloee|

For the well-being and harmony of bride and bridegroom the mother

makes vows of offerings (before the deities).

ਨੁਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਕੰਤ ਕੁਮੰਤੁ ਦੇਇ ਵਿਹਰੇ ਹੋਵਹੁ ਸਸੁ ਵਿਗੋਈ ।

Nuhu nit kant kumantu dayi viharay hovahu sasu vigoee|

Now, the bride starts ill-advising the son, goading him to get separate

from the parents, and consequently the mother-in-law becomes sorrowful.

ਲਖ ਉਪਕਾਰੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਤ ਕੁਪੁਤਿ ਚਕੀ ਉਠਿ ਝੋਈ ।

Lakh upakaaru visaari kai put kuputi chakee utdi jhoee|

Forgetting lacs of benefactions (of mother) the son becomes disloyal and

sets himself at logger-heads with his parents.

ਹੋਵੈ ਸਰਵਣ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਈ ॥੧੧॥

Hovai saravan viralaa koee ॥11॥

Rare is any obdient and lucky son like Sravan (of mythology who was

most obedient to his blind parents.)

Now Vaar 37 Pauri 12 of Vaaran Bhai Gurdas

ਕਾਮਣਿ ਕਾਮਣਿਆਰੀਐ ਕੀਤੋ ਕਾਮਣੁ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ।

kaamani kaamaniaareeai keeto kaamanu kant piaaray|

The enchantress wife with her charms made the husband dote on her.

ਜੰਮੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਵੀਵਾਹਿਆਂ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਅ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ।

janmay saaeen visaariaa veevaahiaan maan pia visaaray|

He forgot the parents who had given him birth and had got him married.

ਸੁਖਾਂ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਿਵਾਹਿਆ ਸਉਣੁ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਵਿਚਾਰਿ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ।

sukhaan sukhi vivaahiaa saunu sanjogu vichaari vichaaray|

Having made vows of offerings and considerd many good and bad omens and

auspicious combinations, his marriage had been arranged by them.

ਪੁਤ ਨੂਹੈਂ ਦਾ ਮੇਲੁ ਵੇਖਿ ਅੰਗ ਨਾ ਮਾਵਨਿ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਵਾਰੇ ।

Seeing at the meetings of the son and the daughter-in-law, the parents

had felt over joyed.

ਨੂੰਹ ਨਿਤ ਮੰਤ ਕੁਮੰਤ ਦੇਇ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਛਡਿ ਵਡੇ ਹਤਿਆਰੇ ।

noonh nit mant kumant dayi maan piu chhadi vaday hatiaaray|

The bride then started continuously advising the husband to desert his

parents instigating that they had been tyrants.

ਵਖ ਹੋਵੈ ਪੁਤੁ ਰੰਨਿ ਲੈ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਦੇ ਉਪਕਾਰੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ।

vakh hovai putu ranni|ai maan piu day upakaaru visaaray|

Forgetting the benefactions of parents, the son alongwith his wife got separated from them.

ਲੋਕਾਚਾਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਵਡੇ ਕੁਚਾਰੇ ॥੧੨॥

lokaachaari hoi vaday kuchaaray ॥12॥

Now the way of the world has become grossly immoral.

At ang 1200 in Sarang Mehla 4 Guru Ram Das ji say:-

ਕਾਹੇ ਪੂਤ ਝਗਰਤ ਹਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਾਪ ॥

kaahae pooth jhagarath ho sang baap ||

O son, why do you argue and quarrel with your father?

ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਜਣੇ ਬਡੀਰੇ ਤੁਮ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਝਗਰਤ ਪਾਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

jin kae janae baddeerae thum ho thin sio jhagarath paap ||1|| rehaao ||

It is a sin to argue and querrel with the one who fathered you and raised you. ||1||

I think the above quotes will serve your purpose upto some extent but no fully.

Some of them i had known but i am looking at very specific reference to seva of parents stated by guru saheb.

Please if you could find something very specific or please remember if it comes to your reference while doing paath.

KDEEPSINGH has basically given you all there is.

If you're looking for anything even more specific, you won't find it.

Basically, you can take the approach in your speech of saying "We say that we want a specific tuk in Gurbani saying to do seva of parents. But before we ask for such a tuk, let's ask ourselves, are we going to follow the command? Because if we're not, there's no use asking for tuks.

When Bani says to do seva, are we so blind and haughty that we don't want to give our own father a glass of water if he asks for it, and we go to the Gurdwara giving water to every body else?

If we can't even do seva of our parents, what is the point of Sikhi?"

There's a sakhi of Guru Gobind Singh ji where Guru ji doesn't drink water from a rich man's son who himself doesn't do any seva of his parents.
