no offence if anyone knows what their talking about they know traditional martial arts like kung fu would get killed in a mma ring, right now im training in mma and ive taken kung fu as a kid, im not going to say all traditional martial arts our a waste of time cause you do learn something that you can apply like 5%, thats why the traditional martial artist got killed in the ufc in the early stages in the 90's and ppl of backgrounds in ji jitsu wrestling muay thai judo came out on top,thats why mma wrestling judo ji jitsu muay thai boxing

Yeh I agree, MMA is better than many commercialised martial arts...but MMA itself is watered down...many moves and strikes are banned in UFC it's goverened by too many rules.

- Small Joint manipulation is banned.

- Strikes to groin, eyes are banned.

- Striking to the back when on the ground is banned,

On the streets nothing is banned, anything goes...all the banned strike places "vvital points/kill points" are the bread and butter primary strike points of all real martial/battlefield arts..

those strkes and moves you talk about that our banned in competition are still tought in the facility's, were i train their's things they teach us that we can't use in competition

as far as im concerned i place mma as the best combat out their fist to fist which is muay thai ji jitsu wrestling judo boxing, and for weapons street fighting i pick krav mega which is used by isreali army everyday

mma is the only combat sport that is constantly evolving as new strategy's evolve thats why we don't see world champions last more then a year unless its anderson silva and george st pierre cause the sport is evolving and new strategy's our comming out, mma has evolved more in past ten years then any other martial art has in the passed 2000 years

another huge reason i believe getting more sikhs into mma is a good thing is cause now a day's we have to many guys acting like tupac gangsters who need an army of 10 to 15 ppl behind them to grow a pair to fight 1 person, and anyone from vancouver or toronto probably knows what i mean, i think my buddy put it best when an mma magazine asked him why arn't their more indo canadians in the sport and he replied cause they have to learn to leave their cousins and friends and weapons behind and grow a pair to go into the cage and fight a one on one war

sikhs are spose to be soilders but now we have youth who are gangster wannabe's who can only be brave with an army of men behind them to fight one person, if we get more ppl into mma we can get alot of youth from that gangster wannabe attitude and teach them to be humbe and teach them to be real soldiers

yes i am saying that krav mega and mma is far better then what our gurus passed down to us at the time, the gurus passed down shastar vidkhiya cause at the time it was the best combat for the sikhs to learn, and does shastar vidkhiya originate from the rajputs

shastar vidkhiya was the best martial art to learn for sikhs in india during the 16th and 17th century during our gurus time, don't forget when maharaja ranjit singh came to help the sikh army grow stronger and better he brought it european mercanary's to teach sikhs in european warfare

im going to show how dumb your logic is and this is for everyone else who agreed with you, would you use shastar vidkhiya if you were to go to war and leave all modern day weapons behind, lets say if you were to go fight in world war 2 or world war 1 or the vietnam war or the war in iraq and afghanistan, would you leave your gun and forget your military training and tell all sikhs to forget their military training and leave their guns and to only use shastar vidkhiya on the battle field cause our gurus passed it down to us?

id love to do this if their were any shastarvidiya classes in vancouver

as well why don't you prove shastar vidiya against mma by getting some students or instructors to compete in mma tournments

reason i say mma destroys shastarvidiya is cause in the 90's we got to see what martial arts worked and what didn't in the ufc and in pride fighting, you saw guys with 5th degree kung fu black belts/kung fu world champs getting destroyed by NCAA wrestlers

as well krav mega is tested every day in real life by isreali military, and it specifically designed for street fighting with weapons and is a constand evolving martial art, krav mega in 1970 is different to what krav mega is today, i know krav mega destroys shastar vidiya when it comes to handling gun attacks knife attacks and baseball attacks beer bottle attacks and other forms of attacks

id like to see how effective this martial art is in an mma tournment, so get yourself or some instructors and students to participage in an mma tournment
