guru nanak dev ji had maya

Recommended Posts

i am sure many of you know of john, someone who is into sikhi. he said guru nanak dev ji had amaya in him. look

johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

same with guru nank etc

One who performs rituals without realizing the Word of the

Guru’s Shabad, shall die and be reborn, again and again says:

you saying guru nanak had maya in him?

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

yup

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

not as much as me and you

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

but everything within maya is maya

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

has maya in it

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

nanak was more attached to god

One who performs rituals without realizing the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, shall die and be reborn, again and again says:

in all my life, never have i been so insulted

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

and less attached to maya

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

oh get lost

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

wont even let me explain

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

bye

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

everytime i say something you always twist it to make it seem like im insulting sikhi

One who performs rituals without realizing the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, shall die and be reborn, again and again says:

you just said guru ji had maya

One who performs rituals without realizing the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, shall die and be reborn, again and again says:

thats why i am offended

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

listen

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

yes because you jumped the gun

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

not letting me explain

Johnnie! ...

20 pitp says:

AGAIN

One who performs rituals without realizing the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, shall die and be reborn, again and again says:

ok explain

J

ohnnie! ...20 pitp says:

well i beleive that no living being can ever be 100% unattached for maya. its impossible. because to be that then you would have to be god.... [wait]

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

example, youd still need food, youd still need clothes... the body has limits so therefore we live in maya and we have to depend on it to an extent

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

now if you are talking about attachment to maya

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

thats different

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

because

ohnnie! ...20 pitp says:

god is never attached to maya [well he created it but thats another topic].... but a human being will be... if hes a prophet, guru, anything. everything exisiting within maya and space and time will all have a slight dependancy on what is within space and time... so basically guru was more unattached to maya than most... but still, all beings will have maya in them. whether its a little or alot

Johnnie! ...20 pitp says:

just the way we are programmed

Ok Im new but the meaning of maya, as it has been explained to me is "Greed for money", not money it self. So, i am sayin that we need money but its not everything because u cant take money with you when you die all u can take is the name of God. grin.gif :e:  )

singh jee, maya does not mean money, this is a new use of the word. maya actually means illusion. its the illusion we live in. the fake world all around us.

comparable to the matrix. we are all entrapped in maya and cannot see the real world around us.

also, guru sahib tells us to take the evils of maya and control them, whip them into shape and use them for our advantage. ie turn lust into love for guru sahib, turn anger into bir rus to stop injustices etc.

when we control maya, we are powerful, this can only be done through naam and bani.

although I'm not qualified enough to give an opinion on what he said, I think he's entitled to his views and he clearly attempted to describe fully what he meant. I think what he was getting at had deeper connotations then what you perceived Kandola.

well, what do you think of this gora saying this? i am stunned he said al this.

Whether he is of caucasian origin or not means nothing in the eyes of Waheguru. Am I the only one displeased at the use of your vocabulary here?

    • Definitely the Guru Sahibs would be a heavier Scriptures to handle. Dasam Granth is more towards Bir Rass, Guru Gobind Singh showed his Greatness (of course, they would never say this) by separating his own Baania.  And the BIGGEST test of all?? Do we try and read Dasam Granth, Understand n show respect like we do to SGGS? Or... Do we QUESTION it? Guru Gobind Singh Ji is testing us.
    • My wife will be going for an MRI scan next week but her Kara won’t physically come off.  Is there any way the mri scan can be done with the Kara still on?  The alternative is we will have to try to saw it off before the scan.
    • was researching this and came back to this thread. Also found an older thread:
    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
