It coluld be, because it is written in english, as in english they have both V and W letters, so they have double choices.....and as seen in english, whether written with V or with W, thare is hardly any difference, isn´t it?

Jokes apart, we should not get entangled with the words or how they are written....but special care sholud be taken to see, if we looking at our goal Wahiguru, rather than the surroundings.

there is no "W" sound in the Punjabi alphabet so I always wondered why is it pronounced Waheguru instead of Vaheguru? Just curious....

when did the english alphabet come soo important, Gurmukhi's the BEST :biggrin2:

Anything that is used has it´s value...

Well, we are on a english expressed website for comunication among ourselves...and so are you, using it.

The question here is not about what language is better or best, the question is about the meaning Wahiguru as per the title of this thread...

If you want to see what language is best...you may start a poll about it :stupidme: :cool2: :biggrin2:

The best language is the 'unspoken language' of Akal Purakh.

When it comes to saying Va or Wah, then I don't think that either is incorrect or wrong.

In punjabi alone there are more than a dozen different dialects across punjab....and the V's/W'sounds and sometimes even a B'sound,.. J's/Y's sounds...etc..all interchange !

Veer luckysingh99,

it is verily true what you say, but that language of Akal Purukh is Akaath, is His love, is His Amrit, His Daya Meher, and for that to be understood, we need to be pure and subtle like Himself.

But at our human level, any which way we want to express ourselves is valid. For example we maybe from Punjab, and we go to the USA or Canada, while passing inmigration, and we have to talk to the airport authorities, we will have to speak in english with them.

According to brother 1ManArmy, we can not tell them, my gurmukhi is the best, so if you talk to me in gurmukhi or punjabi, I will answer you, otherwise not.

It is we, who create our own limitations, and then we cling on them.... this is just moorakhta, just narrow mindedness.

Instead to grow and be mature in life, and have a broader view, with the right attitude and perspective, rather we create childish issues and make controversies about them.

hum moorakh, Tum chaturay siaanay

Madho, hum aise toon aisaa.

There are many interpretations of Vahiguroo gurmantar, as soon as vahiguroo shabad pentrates in one's meditation/dyan/surti.. one perceives supreme bliss anubhav prem gyan/meaning of vahiguroo in their experience which cannot be spoken as its not conceptual or theoretical or abstract form..as soon you speak it or write it down, its bound to loose its beauty as then its get open to ideas, concept, conceptual abstract forms interpertations.

For rough understanding purposes, sant gyani gurbachan singh bhindranwale gives estoeric gyan layer meaning of vahiguroo mantra:

Va- Vypak, Ha- Pargat, Gu- Bhram Ru- Chaitan- Nirvakalp
Vahiguru- Spiritual meaning- Va- Vypak (Everywhere), Hi- Pargat(existence), Gu- Bhram (Paratma-Bhram) Ru- Chaitan (Supreme Consciouness/Awareness)
~ Paratma supreme consciousness which exist everywhere which is pure existence. ~
