I hope this thread does not start yet another mindless debate on the merits of the Nanakshai Calendar. The migration by the Akal Takhat back to Bikrami dates for the Gurpurb which are celebrated the most is an indication of the lack of credibility the calendar has.

Also with virtually all Western Guru Ghar celebrating the start of the Christian New Year this evening further demonstrates that they themselves do not align themselves fully to the Nankshai Calendar. Since the New Year for Sikhs starts on 14th March each year, hence why the annual Calendar is launched in March each year by the Akal Takhat.

Paji, how can that be though?, if guru tegh bahadur ji kurbani divess was 10,th december (according to bikrami) ( 5 maghar) (acoording to mahapurkh katha) , that means poh is meant to start some time soon, so how can p10's gurpurb be 11th? according to the former, it should be around the 27th, january?

i am asking because i dont grasp this yet, please explain.........
