So I was reading up on Muhammad the Muslim prophet and I came across this;

"Guru Nanak, a founder of Sikhism, viewed Muhammad as an agent of the Hindu Brahman"

I don't recall hearing about this anywhere. Could someone shed some light on this? When did Maharaj say this and why? Or is it just some mistake?

might be worth reading the source of the material on wikipedia. It states Peter Teed (1992) page 424

Its simple Guru Nanak Dev ji recognisized all prophets as mesengers of the same god although it shouldnt say the "hindu" Bhrama it should just say God since Vaheguru,Allah,Bhrama refers to the same one god

I have also heard that wikipedia cannot be recognised as a vaild souce of information (lecturers have told us for our projects at university). Not that it has wrong information but the info is not accurate and academicians do not recognise it as valid as people are the ones who post in it and thats how it gets information, so anyone could have posted that comment.

I think that quote in the first post is meant to incite trouble between Sikhs and Muslims. Its not an innocent mistake.
