Recently, the Bloc Quebecois- a Canadian Federal Political Party called for the Government of Canada to disallow members of parliament and the general public alike from wearing a KIRPAN into the Parliament.

Canadian parliament already has members of Parliament who wear the KIRPAN on an everyday basis in the parliament. They have been doing so for years.

This uncalled for call comes as a shock to the Sikh Nation and other members of the Canadian and Global public alike.

WE THE MEMBERS OF THIS GROUP STRONGLY OPPOSE THIS CALL THAT DISPLAYS INTOLERANCE AND IGNORANCE. PLEASE JOIN US BY JOINING THIS GROUP TO SHOW SOLIDARITY.

A Kirpan is an article of faith in the Sikh religion, which has to be worn by a Sikh at all times. It has a small blade and has been allowed in Canada everywhere, including the Courts (Supreme Court included), Parliament House, Provincial Legislatures, schools, universities etc...for many many years.

IT IS NOT A SYMBOL OF FAITH- IT IS AN INSEPARABLE ARTICLE OF THE SIKH FAITH.
