Nirmala (Guru- Chela Relationship)

I have heard that Nirmala Sikhs still hold a somewhat of a Guru- Chela relationship, So my question is how does Guru Granth Sahib get incorporated into this or is the relationship just like that of a vidiya Guru or sant?

Maybe someone can also mention how the Nirmalas have influenced Sikhi and also list some of the Akharas and Saints from the Nirmala Sikhs

The Nirmalas still incorporate a sort of dehdhari Guru from whom you serve and learn. The guru then teaches you the details and atam gyan of the complete Shabad Guru.

The shabad Guru is held as the highest nirgun form of parmatma but needs to be taught by a sadhu

Thank you for the post, what kind of stuff does the serving usually include? When making i guess a sadhu your "Guru" is there a form of initiation ? Or a specific code of conduct ? e.g maybe never getting married etc..

Shabad practice is only done in DEH. that is why even Devatas and Devis beg for Human body(Deh) for Naam Jap.

Even SGGSJi is pratak 10 Patshahis Deh (only to Puran Sant s and Brahmagaynis) not to people like us who just think and see it as a holy book of Sikhs. They have seen prathak darshan of Satgurus in SGGSJI

The Guru CHela relationship is not only in nrmalas, but udasis as well. Also if you speak to some of the older ragis they will tell you they had such a relationship with their sangeet guru.

The seva can vary, one ustaad i spoke to told me, that his sangeet guru, made him do household chores and massage his legs for 6 months beofre teaching him a note. Also in this 6 month period, he would turn up at his teachers house only to be told to go home. Basically the teacher was testing his endurance and desire for learning kirtan. Then when the teacher was satisfied that he was worthy of being taught, the Guru accepted him as his chela.

I dont think that any guru would ask his chela do do anything against gurmat. But did hear once about how some udasi crushed a young chelas testicles so he wouldnt be influenced by kaam.
