it's not that expensive - especially when you run britasia on the side and have in the past run porn stations and legal channels!

Sikh Channel employ people to do the sound egineering and that and that cost prob 40000 then the camera crew salaries added together 40000 pay another 40 grand and then all the rights copyrights and the cost of running two stations isn't cheap and fianlly all the bills and getting rights to broadcast the content costs alot of money. I got this imfo when the direct debit scandel happend and sikh channel was wrongly accused of taking the money and using it for other reasons. They showd the papers of all bank statements and skys letters. Running a channel isn't cheap.

Sorry if the imfo wrong. Bhul Chuck Maaf

before we were crying out loud that we need tv channels as this will be a divine intervention...to the contrary i am afraid now we got all these media outlets sttm, iphone apps, you tube, internet, 3 tv channels, live divans etc etc...but these are all kaljugs agents and we have a ego of being sikh but there is no substance..that substance will be acquired when we all become engaged in our gurdwaras and in satsangat together,....every evening/mormimg you go to the gurdwara there is no body there.....when there is the 6th Mahhan Annual Universal Akhand kirtan samagam with a special appearance by gurpreet singh shimla then everyone turns up...someone is about to sit down some one is about to get up, someone is in the langar talking and some are in the foyer. this is our sad state and the most pain i experience is when i see Guru De Sikh behaving like this. just look at the kind of posts you see in this forum..o'h im in love plz help, oh i cant control my mind plz help, o'h i cant do nitnem please help etc etc etc.....if you want to measure the chardi kala of our nation then just enter sikhsangat .com and read whether someone is asking asbout advice on doing 25 Jap, someone is about doing a chalisa, someone is asking about doing sukhasan etc etc.....but do you ever see this.

  • 4 weeks later...

actually this was a sort of trick question.

I know how much they cost as i work for one of the channels. but let me tell you this NO-ONE gets payed, if they ever mention staff wages..its all BS.

i have met people from the "rival" channels and the too are not getting payed after being promised a full paid job. We all work hard for nothing....money comes in

but no-one know where it goes, yet the "bosses" drive big posh cars...i'm on the verge of depression because i'm so broke..but what can i do theres no jobs out there.

The Sikh Channels are doing an amazing Sewa, have definately taken SIkhi Parchar to alot more homes, the Sikh Youth Show is amazing, along with finally giving the Sikhs a voice.

Sikhguy - I dont think you are even a a Sikh guy at all, your just trying to stir trouble.

I agree they do, do alot of seva, but seva doesn't put food on my families table or clothes on their back right? I just don't like being lied to.

i'm not trying to stir trouble, i'm just saying your money doesn't go where its supposed to.

And I am a sikh why do you say i am not? That's a bit childish don't you think:?

I used to work for Sikh Channel, and the employed staff got paid. However the average wage was 12k.

The big trick they use however, is to take on Interns from eastern europe and NOT pay them. Im not sure about the legalities of this.

Also Sikh Channel rarely has a budget for programming and are able to save money this way. This is why the quality is often below standard.

Sorry but this is the truth :)

    • If relationship with Guru is strong, then kanga is done twice a day, and turban should never be taken off or put on like a hat, there is a lot wrong with that as it is against rehit! maryada is to take off every layer of turban/pagh/dumalla individually, and tie fresh turban each time!
    • the whole 'your husband/wife is chosen for you'/sanjog thing is real, it's just that a lot of people end up marrying the wrong person. they did not end up with the person that was meant for them. my friend, you should marry someone who you feel a connection with and love. there are millions of sikh girls, i'm sure you can find someone who aligns with your sensibilities and who you can truthfully say that you love. sikhi does not say anything against love marriages. you can also be in a loveless arranged marriage which is a safe option b/c both families are more inclined to keep the union intact. i was one of those people who was like meh, i guess i'll just get arranged to some sikh. well i finally started dating for the first time this year and i'm getting married to someone that i love and cannot even imagine leaving. i think it's better to have lost & lost than never loved at all. unfortunately, a lot of people confuse love w/ looks & lust. a lot of men go for the fittest girl they can find and think they won the jackpot or something. in reality, your partner should be like an extremely loved best friend. there's a reason why it's a fact that the most stable and long-lasting relationships started as friendships.  i also think a lot of women are petty and divorce over small reasons, but there's other terrible things like high cheating rates as well. that's why the divorce rate in the west is high. be careful out there.
    • andrew tate praises sikhi too & likes sikhs. his brother also donated to sikh families iirc. they just like any "alpha" religion and tbh islam is the most "alpha" in their eyes. islam is very good at promoting that image. but imo a real alpha man doesn't command respect by beating up his wive(s) or forcing them to wear a burqa. a real man will have his woman listen to him w/o raising a hand or his voice, and command respect by being respectful. he leads by example and integrity. that's true masculinity. you get the idea. + yes, it's definitely true that islam is growing rapidly and making massive inroads. strength in numbers + belief will do that. but rlly it's just because of the birth rate. a lot of them are muslim b/c it's their "identity" just like how a lot of young sikhs will say they're "culturally sikh" or whatever. there just aren't billions of sikhs who lambast their identity everywhere and have strict and linear rules like in islam. besides, the reality is that islam and its followers are some of the most morally bankrupt. you can see all the weird trans rules in iran, bacche baazi in afghanistan, visiting brothels, watching p*rn, p*dophilia what goes on behind the scenes in countries like uae & qatar, etc, and come to your conclusions. you can google all the stats yourself and see which countries do the most of these ^.
    • stop associating with hinduism, that's the absolutely worst thing you can do as a sikh. not sure if you noticed but the entire world looks down upon and spits at india & hindus, literally no one respects them and considers them weak and cowardly. literally 1+ billion of them but not perceived as a strong religion commandeering respect.
    • you wrote a whole lot but told us nothing. what exactly did you do wrong to make you feel this way?
