'Stick' Used To Meditate?

Recommended Posts

Gurfateh Veerji,

The stick you are referring to is called 'Bairaagan', which is basically a T-shaped support device for extended periods of meditation, or as an aid to lean on to in case one is lucky to get into Samadhi.

Its length depends on the size of your torso. If you sit in lotus/half lotus position, cross your arms and stretch them forward, then the distance from the ground/seat to the stretched arms would be an ideal and comfortable length. It can also be slightly longer if one wishes to rest the chin on it too.

You can make it yourself, or get it made, or get it from India :)

It should be strong enough to support you but thin enough so that you have to be in some state of awareness to make it balance.

Best place to buy it haridwara its in T shape with almost exactly balance till you are in meditation you are own it as soon as you fall asleep you are down. Its hard to get that balance.

If you are making it your self make sure it balance and its height should be kinda Pythagoras Theorem dependent when you sit in a chonkra lean forward with your back straight till your chin reaches 3-4 inch ahead of your feet. That would be the height it should have.

I believe this is a picture of Baba Nand Singh Ji's Bairaagan. Here it supports itself, as the base is 'flat', does it have to be like that or can it be rounded off so that you have to 'balance' it. if it's rounded off then you have to keep more concentration on sitting straight, etc, but then again this is Baba Nans Singhs! He won't have got it wrong :)
