My advice on how to stop drinking ?

Just stop drinking. Simple as that.

Everything in life is only as complicated or easy as you make it. You're already 80% there by acknowledging that your drinking has become excessive and leading you to do things you regret. The last 20% is now easy. All you have to do is not drink. It's as easy as you psychologically want it to be.

A little story: A few years ago I was having terrible wisdom tooth pain. You know the sort that won't even let you sleep and can't be stopped by simple analgesia. I simraned (meditated) away my pain. I sat there for an hour and with each breath of waheguru was picturing in my mind the power of getting to the root of the pain and pushing it away from my body. Now I, just like everyone else here, am an <banned word filter activated>. If a simple fool like me can kill pain by meditation your task of staying in with the family instead going off to the clubs with your friends is childs play.
