Just have a question. Are interfaith marriages allowed to take place at the gurdwara or at another place with Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji present. Eg home.

there is hukamnama from akal takhat sahib stating inter faith marriage is only allowed if the non sikh partner accepts sikhi and changes all legal id i.e passport, license etc to include singh or kaur.

i married a non sikh born person before this hukamnama as my surname is sandhu but only use singh she changed hers to kaur.

to answer your question you not really meant to have interfaith marriage in front of sggs ji unless the other person changes name etc. but in uk this is not followed strictly as only last year i attended interfaith marriage at havelock road. also people born into sikhi and are both punjabi they do not have to follow the protocal even if they dont have singh or kaur on official docs. they also dont have prove or say they follow sikhi.
