sangat ji, i want to know whether are there any direct flights go from Amritsar to Hazur sahib? and how much will it cost in term of indian rupees?

I know goair operates flights from Delhi-Nagpur-nanded-mumbai. Better off checking with a travel agency or a website though

There are no flights from Amritsar. Flights operate from delhi and mumbai 3 times a week, sun, tues and thurs, airline is goair.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has urged Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh to immediately start direct flights from Amritsar and Chandigarh to Nanded in Maharashtra for facilitating pilgrims to pay obeisance at Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib.

A spokesperson for the Chief Minister's Office said Badal put forth this demand before the minister in a meeting held today at Kapurthala House in New Delhi. The Chief Minister also impressed upon Ajit Singh to start international flights from the upcoming international airport at Mohali.

He said these flights would ensure better connectivity for Punjabis settled abroad, making their journey to the state far more comfortable. The Chief Minister also asked Ajit Singh that as the domestic terminal at Bhisiana (Bathinda) is ready, the department should commence the flights from it because Bathinda was coming up as petrochemical hub.

Meanwhile, Badal also urged the Prime Minister to direct the Ministry of Railways to commence another train between Amritsar and Nanded to cope up the heavy rush of pilgrims.

It has been brought to notice of this Bureau that instrucions pertaining to carriage of Kirpan by Sikh passangers of domestic flights are not properly implemented resulting in inconvenicence to the Sikh passengers.

In view of the above it is further clarified that as per instructions in force issued vide Circular No. 9/56/74-IR dated 7.10.1983 (annexure-I) which were reiterated vide Circular no.8/99 dated 28.4.99 (annexure-II) Sikh passengers are allowed to carry Kirpan with them on board domestic flights. The total length of the ‘Kirpan’ should not exceed 22.86 CMs (9 inches) and the length of the blade should not exceed 15.24 CMs. (6 inches). It is being reiterated that these instructions should be fully implemented by concerned security personnel so that religious sentiments of the Sikh passengers are not hurt.
