Running And Doing Paath?

Recommended Posts

For the last few weeks, I've been doing my 5 bani's while out on my run in the morning. I have them all memorized, so I do Paath while I run. It gives me energy, and I can concentrate a lot more than I would sitting down.

I was telling someone about this, and he said I should always sit down and do Paath. But didn't Guruji have Sikhs practice martial arts while doing Jaap Sahib?

Anyway, what's your guys' take on this?

That is fine, as long as u are doing ur nitnem memorised you can do what you want. if u are using a gutka sahib then it is different out of satkaar for the pothi.

if you feel u can't concentrate on ur nitnem while running then don't do it. i sometime go on walks when i do my nitnem and i can concentrate fine.

Well done for memorising Gurbani, especially Jaap Sahib. Unfortunately I need the reassurance of a Gutka Sahib in my hand in-case I make a mistake, even though I know most of it (except the aforementioned Jaap Sahib) from heart.

If it works for you then fair play!

I was actually wondering the same thing, since I do that sometimes. One thing I would mention though is to also try to memorize the translations of all punj baniaa so your mind doesn't wander off and when it tries to think of what each tuk means it can feel more anand doing it.
