A Muslim Fakeer

This is a story of a Muslim Fakeer. He was a sufi. He was very kind and always remembered Allah. He would always feed someone before eating. One time he could find no one to offer his food. Three days pass and food is in the plate but there is no one. So Fakeer stays hungry. After few more days, faker finds someone and says to him “come share this food with me. You eat one roti and then I will eat.” The man agrees.

Just when the man was about to eat, faker stops him and says , “Don’t you want to thank Allah first who gave you this food?” the man says, “Allah? I have never heard of him. I never thank anyone. I am 90 years old and never in my life have I heard of thanking Allah or anyone else for food.” Fakeer is really disappointed and says, “You are not Allah’s devotee. Give me the food back. You do not deserve it.” Just then a voice comes from the above and says “give him the food back. He is my son.”

Fakeer says, “But Allah Talah, he does not remember you and never thanks you. He is a kafir.” Allah says, “Let me worry about that. He never thanked me or remembered me yet I provided him with the food and water for 90 years and never complained. Once in your life you meet someone and you are thinking of breaking your rule? He has forgotten me but why should I forget him. He is still my son” fakeer gave the food back and then ate his share.

Two important things we learn from this.

One thing is that all those people who turn their backs on Guru Ji and do not take Amrit are still loved by Guru Ji. Guru Ji never forgets anyone. Remember Bhai Joga Singh Ji who forgot Guru Ji but Guru Ji still loved him. “Put Kaput Ho Janday Par Mapay Kumapay Nahin Hunday”

econd thing is for Amritdharis. Keep your Rehat Maryada and let Guru Ji worry about others. How many of us do not even give a quarter to someone standing on the side of the road thinking they all drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes? Give them money with kind heart. You do your part and let Guru Ji do the rest by bringing the lost ones on the right path.

in my humble opinon should we not give them food clothes etc, giving of money MIGHT make them use it for the wrong reasons - so a Gurmukh is actually helping a Garbeed + he's stopping him from doing paap at the same time- wouldn't tha be good ?

hmmm good story with a good moral :wub: How it went from muslims and Allah to Guru's and Amrit I dont know but i just wondered where u got it from?
