Note : Shikhandi was a character in the Mahabharat who was a eunuch (neither male nor female). Calling Mr Manmohan Singh as "Sikhandi" may imply that he isn't man enough to control Indian politics and the remote control is in Sonia Gandhi's hands.

No apology for calling PM Sikhandi: Yashwant

Kolkata: Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha today said there was no question of his tendering an apology for describing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as "Sikhandi", asserting that he was only speaking the truth.

"Why should I apologise? I had to speak the truth. There is no question of any apology," Sinha, a former minister in the Vajpayee Cabinet, told newsmen when asked if he would tender an apology as demanded by the Congress.

To support his point, Sinha displayed the clipping of a Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee advertisement which contained allegations against Uma Bharati and photographs of Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and other Congress leaders.

"When the ad was published, did the Prime Minister say he was not a party to it? We did not issue the ad, the KPCC did. All the allegations in it were lies and set aside by the Hubli court. After this, the Prime Minister should have dissociated himself from the ad," he said.

When told that the Congress had sought his explanation for call

ing Manmohan Singh a puppet Prime Minister, he said, "If they want an explanation for speaking the truth, I have nothing to say. The UPA presently had four power centres, the major ones being AICC president Sonia Gandhi, (RJD chief) Lalu Prasad and the Left parties. Whatever power is left remains with the Prime Minister."
