2. Your view on science and Sikhi?

Sikhi and science do not contradict at all. Science is simply a manifestation of Vaheguru's physical/visual/superficial laws and science only contradicts God/Allah/Ram/Vaheguru when you look at Vaheguru through western Abrahamic faith lens.

Evolution contradicts with Sikhi, but I do not reject science as a whole.

I believe science to be a good thing, but I don't agree with a lot of it and it hinders my faith in Vaheguru.

3. Should Sikhs publicly promote science and research within the Panth?

Yes, science empowers an individual. If Sikhs are focused on such fields it will help us empower ourselves to help others.

I am not sure whether we should promote science in the Sikh panth. Sikhi talks about meeting Vaheguru and the pursuit of knowledge may distract some individuals from the essence of Sikhi - "Jin Prem Kiyo Tin Hi Prabh Payo".

We shouldn't decide what is more important, who is to say science should be promoted by Sikhi? Where in history is science promoted in the Sikh panth?

No science should not be promoted at all. Science only can condone atheism and hurt a GurSikh's jeevan.0

@ipledgeblue starched turbans are fine. Gurus also gave strict orders never to criticise or belittle a dastaar (of any style). If somebody prefers a solid pagg, which doesn’t move or lose shape, then this is fine. It’s better to have a starched turban that you feel comfortable in than one that you tie that makes you feel bad. For example, ppl I know tend to get quite frustrated if they can’t get their pagg right before a function, which makes them angry. Having a starched pagg is easier for them and saves them the stress, makes them nicer ppl in general -
@JassuObviously, it’s not rlly your business so don’t worry, but I’ll educate you. Someone who is 50% Rajput and 50% jatt is called “Rajput Jatt”. And btw, nobody is saying that one caste is better than the other, I’m just clarifying that Tarkhans aren’t the only ones who starch paggs (and that it happens on the Indian style as well as the Kenyan, maybe js not as commonly). Stop worrying about nuances and stick on topic or just don’t say anything.
