racist quebec is at it again.......just like france

MONTREAL -- The Quebec Soccer Federation has decided its ban on turbans will stay.

In a decision released Sunday following a Saturday board meeting, the QSF said referees in Quebec must continue to enforce a prohibition on the wearing of turbans, including patkas and keksi.

It's the only minor soccer league in the country where the ban is upheld. Soccer leagues across Canada permit Sikhs to play with their religious head coverings.

The World Sikh Organization of Canada issued a statement Sunday saying it was “deeply saddened” by the decision and that it will continue to fight the ban in Quebec.

FIFA, the international governing body of soccer, doesn't specifically prohibit the turban.

Yeah this does not surprise me, quebec is known for its racist policy not just sikhs even english speaking canadians are discriminated in quebec by ultra right wing french nut bar nationalist. WSO is doing amazing job, hope they take legal action as they were saying in the article..take them all the way to supreme court.

In the meanwhile, our parchariks need to turn this bitter news to sweet news by using this news - apply little rhetoric in parchar at gurdwaras or sikhi camps so that mona's pupils or youths can feel proud of their indentity rather than being shamed of it, we can use these live examples to bounce back and instill more confidence in youths with cut hair and invoke their pride of their indentity (keshas/turban).

So lets leave the legal issues to wso guys in the meanwhile step up rhetoric little more and capitalize on this news to get more youths to have turban and kesh.

I think biggest threat racist faces its not against them physically or verbally, but rather flourishing of values he/she so despise.
