These are Mother, Wife and Daughter of Bhai Gurpreet Singh Guri who protested against Badal Sarkar's Indifferent attitude towards Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa's Hunger Strike yesterday and is in Jail now.

Bhai Guri ran a small cloth shop which is closed now. His Father and Uncles were tortured during days of Sangharsh in Punjab which crippled them and later on they died.
One of his Uncles Bhai Bachittar Singh Kila Hans attained Shaheedi in a fake encounter.

Jathebandis are requested to take Bhai Guri's case sensitively so that He returns soon to his little family.

ONE MAN'S PROTEST - AND HIS FAMILY WHO HAVE ALSO FELT THE PAIN OF INJUSTICE

A few days ago, one man's public protest at the Kabbadi World Cup party, made headlines across Punjab.

SOPW have been in touch with Gurpreet Singh Guri's mother, Charanjeet Kaur, and offered her our full support.

Gurpreet Singh Guri, of village Killa Hans, Ludiana, comes from a family who has suffered at the hands of the police themselves. His father died from injuries inflicted upon him during police torture and his uncle was also killed in a fake encounter.

Feeling the same pain of injustice, that has led Gurbaksh Singh to risk his life on hunger strike, Gurpreet Singh pushed passed the security at the Kabaddi Final's Party, losing his dastaar in the process, to get his message heard over the microphone.

He was immediately apprehended by the police and taken to the Criminal Intelligence Agency, where his lawyer believes he may have been tortured. But, we can only confirm this once we have more details. However, he has been charged under Section 107 and 151 of the Indian Penal Code for Abetment.

His lawyer has arranged the bail money and is hopeful that Gurpreet Singh should get bail at his Court Hearing, tomorrow.

Gurpreet Singh comes from a very humble background and is the only man in the household, as his brother was killed in a road accident. He makes his living by running a small clothes shop and has two young daughters, a wife and a mother to care for.
