It was reported by the Concerned Citizens Tribunal that 90 percent of those arrested were almost immediately granted bail, even if they had been arrested on suspicion of murder or arson. There were also media reports that political leaders gave those being released public welcomes as they were given bail. A much higher percentage of Hindus (Gujaratis/Telegus/Bengalis/Tamils/North-Indians/Punjabis and all other Hindus), have moved from India to the Western world, and they describe India/Indian work culture no better than Taliban.

However, Nirankari Guru Gurdev Singh responsible for death of 18 Singhs in Amritsar 1978, case shifted to Panipat instead of Punjab jurisdiction.

Sant Bhindrawale used peaceful means through Dharm Yudh Morcha. Hindus and the Indian government had no justification for operation bluestar in which thousands of Sikhs were mercilessly killed by the Indian army. It was a crime against humanity. And his followers hijacked a plane, derailed a train amongst other things. His release was not a decision by the courts but a political decision. It is this decision to release him that haunts the GOI even today hence the strictness against the current prisoners.

Bhai Gurbaksh Singhs fast was not widely covered for a variety of reasons - the number one reason being that election season is near and the media is concentrating on other things. Forget the "Hindu" media I have not see anything in the muslim, jewish, christian, buddhist, or any other media as well. It did not help that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh called for the partition of the country from his platform something that no politician in election season would even come close to. Nobody is saying that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh did not have the right to call for Khalistan because the Supreme Court has already decided that citizens have every right to Freedom of Speech but unfortunately even if you have Freedom of Speech that does not mean that I have to provide you a platform to air your views.

As for your comments about Jinnah and Master Tara Singh I dont know about that nor do I have any source, and you probably don't either. In fact, Mr. Jinnahs Muslim League decimated sikh populations the worst and made it their jihadi mission. The famous newspaper editor you talk of is Lala Jagat Narain who was notoriously anti-Sikh. The reason why Sant Jee was released is because there was no evidence of him being linked with his murder. It's innocent until proven guilty, no the other around. As for the hijacked plane, again the Sikhs who did that were just average Sikhs who were supporters(hamdard) of Sant Jee, they were not part of Sant Jee's group. When they saw Sant Jee being arrested on false charges they hijacked the plane. No one was hurt. It was a political stunt to bring world media attention to the plight of the Sikhs. Those men later served time in jail.

What is interesting is, the two Hindu men who had hijacked a plane in 1978 after Indira Gandhi was arrested on the charges of fraud and misconduct were awarded party tickets and elected. Same crime of hijacking a plane, but a Sikh is punished with imprisonment while the Hindu is turned into a minister in the Indian government.
