Nothing new and utterly despicable bullying of children and a faith; displaying the heads in their asses mentality of an entire nation.

Can you imagine Hollywood's repeated comedy theme be a similar caricature of Jewish children with Kippah/Yarmukle or a caricature of Black children with frizzy hair?

The Indian entertainment industry generates billions of dollars meaning the nation has a massive appetite for this as entertainment. Maybe it's time they declare the entire country 'backward class'. In the mind of any intelligent person, the hosts, producers, audience and nation end up being the butt of the joke.

How can the country claim that it has a fighting chance for respect for women on the streets when it bullies children and mocks a minority faith for mainstream family entertainment.

Feel free to spread the above or your own view on social media.

One thing you can start doing is tell your non-Sikh/non-Punjabi Indian friends/accomplices that Sikh and Indian are two different entities, Punjabi and Sikh are two different entities (not all Sikhs are Punjabis), and Punjabi and Indian are two different entities as well. Sorry, I am not trying to cause any division, but there is no harm in claiming your unique identity. Then you can explain to them that its human nature to mock anyone who is different, which is why Indians mock Sikhs. Trust me, the "Sikhs are not Indian" theory will cut so deep inside their consciousness that the next time they say/hear/read a Sardar joke, they will NOT find it that humorous anymore.

I don't vouch for hurting someone who hurts you, but at times you have to put people in their place.

    • There are only 4 castes in India and Jatt isn't one of them. "Jatt" is a sub-community within a caste, not a caste itself. And we (I'm jatt so don't call me offensive lol) aren't even that high, we only rank 3rd out of the 4 castes but have become very respected due to our presence in Punjabi media and the amount of land we own as a community. How is being proud of being Jatt "wrong" in Sikhi - we're not proud of our "caste" (we can't be cos it's not even a high one lol). If anything, Jatts have helped beat the Indian caste system. We literally rose from its bottom to people admiring our lifestyle. So "Jatt" shouldn't be a taboo topic in Sikhi until it becomes one (eg: making "Jatt Gurdware" like Tarkhans did)
    • Try your local Gurdwara, I don't know about you but one of my local ones actually has a board for it. And for some reasons a lot of Granthis out here double up as like the Pind matchmaker. I recommend you go for it but it IS sorta funny to those not looking at getting involved, it's like Name: Jaspreet Kaur  Family Background: Jatt Sikh (Amritdhari) Job: Finance manager  or  Name: Gurpreet Singh Family Background: Ramgarhia Sikh Job: Teacher
    • Anyone linking the "kenyan" style turban to Ramgarhia caste is stupid lol. It came from the Jat-only Sikh Regiment in British India (folded, starched single dastar without a pinch). It's called "kenyan style" as Kenya is where it's most popular today and has a lot of Tarkhan living there but it's originally from Jatts in India. Dastar actually opposes caste as a concept anyway so it really doesn't matter.
    • you can use nrimb.com this matrimonial site is very helpful to find Sikhs and other matches for marriage in Canada.
    • Is there a need to insult someone's Dastar style? Feel some shame When you see a Sikh wearing a Dastar you should smile and think "that's my brother" ,not laugh at how he chose to tie his Pagh. Maharaj made a brotherhood in the Khalsa not a fashion contest.
