The Campaign sevadars would like to thank all those Sikhs, from many jathebandhi's and none, who with the love of Guru ji in their hearts took out time to try and stop Guru ji saroop from being disrespected in Slough on Sunday.

The Singhs and Singhnia arrived from many towns all over the UK on Sunday morning, many straight from a Raen Sabai Kirtan. However, the so-called 'sevadars' from Guru Granth Gurdwara (Mangat Hall), Southall had already taken Guru ji saroop to the Baylis House hotel and bar at 6 am.

The Singhs and Singhnia were watching many places but did not discover that Guru ji saroop was in the building until the 'wedding' was about to start. A number of Sikhs managed to get in but were spotted by security and the heavy police presence and removed.

The Sikhs started to do Chaupai Sahib Paaths, Simran and Jaikara's. Some of the wedding guests said that they thought what had happended was wrong because there was a Gurdwara Sahib available 5 minutes away! However, others were abusive.

The family of Harbhajan Bhogal (father of the bride) lied to the Campaign sevadars. His son, Gurnam Bhogal, contacted the Campaign and had said that they would be willing to have the 'wedding' at a Gurdwara if a local venue could be found. When Gurdwara Singh Sabha Slough became available, they did even bother to turn up to a meeting this Wednesday to book the wedding. This Gurdwara Sahib is 5 minutes away by car!

The Owners of Baylis House, who appear to be Hindu's, said via the wedding manager, Vish Bhalla, that the wedding would not ta

ke place at the hotel and that it would be at a Gurdwara. Again, they lied.

The person who organised the farce of 'wedding' is Satvinder Sarl of Harrow. This is the same person who disrespected Guru ji saroop on many previous occasions:

1. Vikrams Banqueting Hall, Slough - three weeks ago

2. C&L Country Club, Northolt - August 2004

If you want to see want he looks like, visit www.gurugranthsahibji.com and look at the proof section. Avtar Hunjan, President of Brent Sikh Centre informed the Campaign and Panjab Times that it was the 'ragi', Satvinder Sarl, who had arranged all these weddings and that they were not aware of the exact details of the locations.

Once it became clear to the Police that the Sikhs would not leave until they knew Guru ji saroop would not be returning with the same 'Sikhs' who had brought the saroop to the Hotel, they tried to mediate. The President of Ramgarhia Gurdwara arrived and said that they would be willing to take care of Guru ji saroop and would definitely not return it to Mangat Hall. The family and 'granthis' insisted only one Sikh could enter to take Guru ji saroop but the Sikhs insisted it must be 5 Singhs.

The 5 Singhs entered and took Guru ji saroop to the Gurdwara Sahib. The Sangat followed and did Paat aand Ardas upon arrival.

To our detractors we say this: the example of Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji and His complete and utter respect for the physical form of Shabad Guru is what guides us. Miri and Piri, inner and outer purity, inward and outward respect for our Guru... this is our goal, this should be the goal of all those who call themselves Sikhs.

The empty words and posturings of people on the internet mean nothing in comparison...

To those who would think of disrespecting Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in the future, think twice and ponder on the seriousness of your actions...

The few photographs which were taken will be posted on www.gurugranthsahibji.com.

We ask

that Waaheguruu ji and Guru Granth Khalsa ji forgive us for the mistakes we made in trying to resolve this situation.
