How familiar is this story to what Sikhs suffered in Sikh history. Forced conversions, robbing of families, public mass beheadings, mass rapes of girls and women of their enemy, taking of land and homes, etc

The same thing is happening to other non-muslims in the year 2014..... can any community ever be safe living in peace with mentally ill 7th century salafi sunni inhumane barbarians?

Religious fanatics from every religion work at the same level of stupidity. They think they will win but vanish soon from the world map.

What of atheist extremists that are often part of western government's and corrupt atheist regimes that murdered millions over recent years in illegal unjust invasions and attacks?

I think there is no difference between atheist extremists and abrahmic / islamic extremists both as violent mental as each other. And I noticed alot of indians are atheists by belief they dont believe in their fairy tales hinduism or ravidassism or other pagan cultist beliefs any more but believe in something called "hindu atheism".

I think dharmik extremists are the worst. Isis is an example.

They are animals who have been fed the diet of religious extremism right from their birth and it's impossible for them to even acknowledge any other kind.i think the blame lies with their parents who probably can't think straight or we're not educated enough to help their illegitimate kids.

If your not aware.... dharmik refers to eastern religious people (people of the indian subcontinent faiths and east asia). So what you said there is talking about abrahmic people. ISIS is islamic therefore from the western abrahmic faith groups.

And no dharmik are not worse they are better than atheists better than pagans better than abrahmics much less violent, more spiritual and more willing to co-exist as long as you dont attack them.

Abrahmics on the other hand are actively trying to provoke and convert everyone else to their ideology.

Extreme of anything is bad. Parents should ensure their kids respect others, other faiths, other communities. If they can't do that then they shouldn't have kids.

I think we should remember we ARE NOT THE ONLY KIND on this planet. To think we are the only ones best like Isis is the worst form of illiteracy. And western nations do have a very high rate of illiteracy as well.

I can agree with that, extremism of any form of any ideology is usually a bad and negative thing.

However to combat eg islamic extremists you have to be extreme. Such is the nature of the beast. Which is why after much atrocities by islamic extremists our Guru's taught Sikhs to fight back and by fighting back Sikhs had to be extreme and in being extreme they were able to defeat the jihadi hordes and create an Sikh empire that rivalled European nations.

So extremism though bad is sometimes necessary to combat certain forms extremism that prevents people from being free or having their basic human rights respected

@MotaSingh Ji

Sorry Bhaji but i believe an Extreme Sikh would not behave in the way the islamists are. I agree with SuperKaur its do to the nature of Dharmic religions. At the core of Sikhi is love and understanding of all Wahegurus creation.

Extreme muslims are simply following their religion more adherently than other muslims. A GOOD muslim is a extremist. Islam clearly dictates all the blood lust and insanity we are now seeing across the world.

To be extremely good is never a bad thing.

    • Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Please someone shed light on the following situation: I understand that waheguru ji is everywhere.   This is what I feel: when I go to gurughar to do ardas, most of the times my ardas is accepted and when I do from home, sometimes ardas is not accepted.  This makes me believe that  i need to go to gurughar to do ardas in order to fullfill the ardas wishes. Now, here the problen is,  I do regular path and ardas at home and when something is important, i do ardas at home and go to gurudwara sahib to do the ardas and if i don't do that i feel something bad will happen and my wish will not be fullfilled. Sometimes the list gets so big, i had to write it on a piece of paper and look at the paper while doing ardas at gurughar. Sometimes I get frustrated because sometimes there is hukumnama, sometimes ardas happening, sometimes sukhasan, sometimes there is a big crowd (lineup) that I can't peacefully stand and do ardas and wait until everything is over. Also, i think if I do full ardass (means like the way the pathi sahib do), that's the only way fullfill my wishes. I think if I don't do full ardas and simply request for my wishes to be fullfilled (point to point talk without full ardas), waheguru will not listen and won't grant me those wishes. This all is driving me crazy with frustration and mental peace.  is it real that only ardas has to be done at gurughar to be fullfilled or it can be done anywhere anytime? Kindly advise what should I do and please guide me to the right path.
    • we shouldn't be worried about meat. I know this forum is allergic to meat discussions, but meat is hardly an issue for a sikh to be worried about! If you want we can discuss privately. Bhangra is dreadful these days. However music if required for keertan, so without bhangra music is actually good, if we do music with gurbani or something helpful and chardi kala! However it is unfortunate I am seeing modern keertanis bring keertan down to the level of bhangra from the past few decades!
    • Is that...? ਵਖੜਿਆ ਦਾ ਝਟਕਾ? and not ਬਕੜਿਆ ਦਾ. Unique ones not goat ones.
    • 4 days total.  First 3 days Akhand Paat for the auspicious occasion.  4th day Anand Karj followed by Kirtan, Katha and Guru ka Kangar.  In my attendance of 20+ weddings I have only seen ONE such wedding. Zero party... party brings meat, alcohol and bhangra / music.
    • I can see this old post has popped up on feed.  I am 34 was 17 when I was blessed with Amrit. Due to my kacha (raw/ uncooked) jeevan I dwell on this; if I had not taken Amrit wouldn't I have enjoyed sex, going pubs and eating meat sometimes? All before the age of 25? Then take Amrit later on in life? And if you have indulged in such activities... ENJOY IT! Why worry about hell / heaven?  As an Amritdhari we have other responsibilities; reunion with God whilst in Grisht jeevan. But if you're Non Amritdhari why worry? JUST ENJOY!
