Sangat ji

if at first amrit sanchar Guru Gobind singh ji used this khanda dsc008480ec.jpg

then why are we using a smaller one thats not even proper read shastar , without dhar and made with soft iron?

why dont we use a proper battle ready khanda like patshahi 10vi ji?

was it distorted latter by british?

VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

Seriously, I don't there is an answer to that question, unless someone can show a similar Khanda being used in Guru Sahib's time or near enough to do Amrit Sanchar seva similar to today's.

Got a good supplier who can provide 1.5 - 2 foot Sarbloh Khandas that are functional? :biggrin2:

"AKJ members" - lol indeed - do they have membership cards or something? Maybe the Taksali posse and the Nanaksari gang does...

:stupidme:

VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

Links please...I am interested in getting some to donate to the local Sangat here if such a thing is easy to get. I know I can get a Khanda, but Sarbloh and of appropriate length is important. Unless the Amrit Bataa is huge, I don't know how a 3 foot Khanda would be balanced within most batae being used in Amrit Sanchars today (not much bigger than say a 5 quart/liter capacity). I suspect this is why the current Khandae were developed - to scale the size down to the bata.

thats just manmatt of people, maybe they went under british influence?

idont think that sings in jungle would be like "wait we need to find smaller khanda" lol

akalshastars , akal armoury etc

besides sarbloh means

sarb-all

This seems like an ideal set up in terms of dimensions. A bit blunt though. Perhaps similar ones were the basis of the current Khanda.

As you can see the large khanda is still used at Sri Kesgarh Sahib. But the use of smaller Khandas is not a new practice as you can also see Puratan Amrit Sanchar Khandas at Sri Hazur Sahib and also Baba Deep Singh Ji's small khanda which is similar to what is now used in amrit sanchars. In my opinion, either can be used.
