The Concept Of Sant Sipahi

Recommended Posts

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh!

My question for sangat ji, is regarding the concept Sant Sipahi.

Now i know that a sikh is to live their lives according to being a Sant (i.e incopperating the teachings Of Satguru Granths Sahib Ji, Piri) for the Atma, and to also live as Sipahi (i.e. incopperating the teachings of Sri Dasam Granth, and Sri Sarbloh Granth, Miri) to lives a warriors.

Also seeing that being a Sant is also like being a Sipahi as you fight spiritually with one self against Maya as well as outside.

But what other further depth is there regarding Sant Sipahi?

And Also.....

I have seen a few pictures of sant who do not adorn themselves with Kirpan, or any weaponary which may also hint that they are not shastardhari which is one of Satguru Gobind Singh Ji Hukam. So why donot wear a Kirpan?

And Also

When looking at the Mahapurakhs/Sants and the Nihangs i can see that there is a division as some have taken to become a Sipahi and some to become a Sant. Are we sikh not meant to be both rather than one?

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO USERS.

PLEASE DO NOT....WHAT SO EVER INSULT AND MAHAPURAKH, SANT, OR OTHER SIKH PERSONELS. I AM NOT CREATING THIS TOPIC TO INSULT ANY SANT, MAHAPURAKHS OR OTHER SIKH PERSONELS, I AM JUST AN UNEDUCATED HUMAN BEING WHO IS JUST ASKING A QUESTION.

ALSO REMEMBER FOR EACH PERSON YOU INSULT, BACKBITE OR CURSE EACH ONE OF THIER SIN WILL BE PLACED ON YOUR HEAD SO NO ANTI- GURMAT BEHAVIOUR.

THANK YOU

I think it depends on perception. In the Dasam Granth there is a section titled the Rudra-Avatar in which a King Parasnath summons the sage Matsyendra and asks him whether he has any foes left. Matsyendra answers that he has subdued all gods, men and beasts but inside him kaam, krodh, lobh, boh, ahankaar and duaity run rife. These foes the sage predicts, will be his ultimate demise. Of course Parasnath is angered and prepares to subdue them. What follows is an epic account of what we might call an internal, spiritual battle. Most mahapurakhs today prefer that battle to any external battle. I guess we were more martial, in a socio-political sense, when were more politically aware and fighting for our survival. Now that peace reigns, we have turned our thoughts inwards.

O Nanak, he is a brave warrior, who conquers and subdues his vicious inner ego.

He alone is called a warrior, who is attached to the Lord's Love in this age.

    • Our Gurus met with and influenced many religious leaders. Lord Chaitanya of Bengal was one of them. Our historians should do more research on this important event in history. Another great incident is that of Guru Hargobind Sahib ji who met with Samarth Ramdas the Guru of the Maratha king Shivaji while in Kashmir. I read some where that the Rajput Raja who helped Shivaji escape Mughal captivity was a Shardaloo of Guru Tegh Bahadur sahib ji.  I really wish our historians would shed more light on these events
    • They always give their terrorist groups these harmless sounding names. Rakshak sounds as if it is a defensive operation. Similarly during the 80s they had a group called Hindu Suraksha Samiti or something like that as if it was a defence group but the intention was to fight and kill kill Sikhs with the help of the police.
    • Such a false flag operation was to be expected. Farmers were preparing for this. This is what they did during the Dharam Yudh morcha. But at the time there was no Ravish Kumar of NDTV, no youtube no facebook. So we couldn't tell our side of the story.  Modi government will try to do more such false flag operations.
    • He is a heretic. His views are very missionary like. Only difference between him and missionaries is that he believes in Dasam Granth while missionaries don't. But otherwise their beliefs, ideology is identical. From my interaction with Dharm Singh's chellas online, they are worse than missionaries. They insult our Shaheeds especially if that Shaheed is associated with the Taksal.  They just look like Nihangs, but there is absolutely nothing Nihang like about them. Wolves in sheep's clothing. Dharam Singh also has close relations with prominent missionaries. They invite him to give lectures to their so called college since their heretical ideology is the same
    • I know this post and topic is from 2005, the year I was born. When I read forums like this, I cry alot because I still haven't been blessed with amrit. God knows how many times I have created a forum talking about me wishing to be blessed with amrit. My lots of pyaar to all those gursikhs that have taken amrit and keeping a rehat. Lots of pyaar to those that are like me crying to take amrit everyday. Lots of pyaar to everyone. Maharaj kirpa karan that everyone will be blessed with amrit.
