Sikh Births - A Little Help Pointing Me In The Right Direction

Hi friends reading this,

I am a 35 year old Anglo Saxon male living in Northern England. My friends baby is due within the month and I would very much like to mark this special occasion in a traditional way. Just maybe offer a small inexpensive gift. I understand some of the traditions involved regarding the temple and naming. Then the grandparents have a role. Sorry to be vague folks but I don't want to drop the ball and seem inappropriate. Is it best just swerving it all together and with a little distance offer best wishes. If you really want to give a gift I don't think they would mind at all. You could always give them a card, clothes or any normal baby related stuff. You could probably give it before or after everyone is inside the Gurdwara during the ceremony. Don't think it should be a big deal at all and you're probably over thinking it haha To be frank, I would probably have a hard time coming up with what to give as well. :lol2:

Agree with Singh559, its not a big deal, I normally give store gift vouchers instead of a gift as will save them returning it or if they won't use it, or get a gift receipt so they have that flexibility to exchange. The main thing is that you care and are partaking in the blessings which they will appreciate.
