Hillsbrough - Justice

Recommended Posts

It's not justice until the people responsible are tried and punished for their crimes. Such is the scale of the cover up I don't see it happening. UK law allows rogue police officers to simply retire and avoid any legal action against them.

How often have you seen the police and people in power ever held accountable. How many police officers and social workers or council bosses have been found guilty of failing Rotherham grooming victims and allowing the abuse to continue ? Despite evidence of a huge cover up ?

How far has the enquiry into British involvement in the 1984 harmandar sahib attack/blue star gotten to ? Nowhere it's been white washed and covered up.

Not my team and no connections with the city, but great to see social justice achieved after years of struggle, an inspiration.

Indeed hammer, as u know im an avid liverpool fan, and this has healed a lot of wounds of the families of the 96. But as cisco says, the next step will be to find and imprison the police officers n other officials, who deliberately covered up their own faults, by shamelessly blaming it on the fans.

Even before these verdicts came out, any1 who did their research on this topic, with all the extra evidence which came out 2-3 yrs back, will know how dispicable the police and hillsborough authorities were. They changed more than 100+ statements of police officers, who were exposing fellow officers of wrong doing, 100+!! Also i remember the 1 thing that disgusted me the most, which was the blood samples they took frm all victim. They then tried to rig/corrupt the dna samples by putting alcohol into them, so they can turn around say, these hooligan fans were all rowdy and amli, and it wasnt our (police) fault. Pathetic! They didnt even spare a 10yrd old kids dna, by putting sharaab in it. Also u notice, how 'the sun' newspaper, didnt even put the hillsborough story on its front page the nxt day?

Even that k@njar kelvin mckenzie hasnt bothered making any of sort of decent and apt apology, all rubbish words. Saying he was "caught up in the smear campaign", pathetic.

This whole hillsborough affair is completely akin to the sikh genocide of 1977-95, where the authorities, govt, media and police were/all covering up the truth, n successive govts (labour/conservative/bjp/congress) kept dismissing n covering up deliberately. However, unlike india, the uk allows free speech and enquiries, and the familes of the 96 were not rounded up and murdered under the guise of 'fake encounters'. With enough pressure, the tory govt folded and bandhar cameron issued apology.

Looks like there will be an inquest in to the 1974 birmingham pub bombings. Both Hillsbrough and birmingham are failings by the police and authoritys. They do make mistakes in the UK but they do put them right. India you can learn from this, open an enquiry in to genocide of sikhs in 1984, and people might give you respect in a judicial sense.

What, like covering up the grooming of Sikh girls for 3 decades and criminalising the brothers who tried to fight and highlight this?

Way to go UK.

What have they done about 84 allegations too? Other than condescendingly pat some pendus on their turbans and promise to look into it - and then let the whole matter die down.

I hear what you are saying but don't get fooled by people opening cases to appease some resentment but having no real intention to get to the heart of the matter and punishing 'important people'.

These people are experts at whitewashing. And if cases get re-opened it's usually because of some relentless, decades-long campaigning by some lawyers behind the scenes that have forced the matter, not any sort of nobility or benevolence on part of the establishment. Open your eyes up mate!

Look at how much they've covered up, or failed to pursue and prosecute on. Tony Blair and his lies causing hundreds of thousands of deaths, all the misuse of police power like spying on Stephen Lawrence's family to try and discredit them. How they failed Sikhs by playing down Sikh girls getting abused for decades and making out like Sikh men who were fighting this were violent, extremists - only to begrudgingly relent when Mohan Singh made noise about the how they were treating white girls as more of a priority and those Leicester paedos got battered. Look at the BBC - they are still hiding paedos, or at least those who knew damn well what Saville and his mates were up to. Look at the noise about the powerful paedo ring made up of top level politicians operating from Westminster that got buried.

It's maverick, dogged lawyers who are to be respected here, not the people who've been trying to cover things up and have been forced to address the issue through legal maneuvering. It says a lot that you can't see this. You should be careful that you aren't one of those types that get easily placated by some token gesture. Because it sounds like you are.
