New Delhi, Dec 2 A City Court today sentenced nine people to three years imprisonment for looting a shop in Azad Market in North Delhi during the riots that broke out after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984.

Additional Sessions Judge S N Dhingra held Bhagwan Dass, Uday Ram, Kishori, Om Prakash, Kishan, Bhagwan Devi, Ashi Devi, Munni Devi and Sheela of Tokriwalan near Bara Hindu Rao guilty of taking part in the riots by forcibly opening the shop of a Sikh owner and looting the goods.

The police had lodged an FIR on the complaint of Prakash Kaur and Inder Singh, the owners of the crockery shop.
