This is a very popular image showing joint parkash of Guru Granth Sahib ji and Dasam Granth Sahib ji.

it is probably an artist decision , because chaur sahib is over both  , probably a larger chandoa was there but that would have blocked the landscape background so was edited out  . I have seen another where chattar was used over Each granth.

If i remember correctly then this painting was done by a Hungarian artist/traveler who traveled through the Sikh empire but he actually did this painting after the death of M.Ranjit Singh and after he had returned from Punjab back to his country. So he probably witnessed the above scene several times and did sketches and then put a painting together back in his country. If you look at Darbar Sahib then the building is painting taller than it is, which is not accurate. But the actual painting was done once he had returned to his country.

You can see a toddler playing at the bottom, M.Ranjit Singh used to take responsibility of the orphan toddlers of his generals etc that used to die in battle and once the toddlers were adults he used to get them married. There are European accounts of lots of kids running around in M.Ranjit Singh court. Its interesting that the artist decided to include this in the painting.
