Very nice and definatly will soon to be a top site. ^_^

 But the use of PNG images instead of JPG slows the entire website down. People in india and some ppl still in the west are on dialup internet and the pages probably wouldnt even load for them.

Picture below is 607kb in size which would take a long time to load.

If you need any advice in how to optimise the pictures let me know or just post on the SEVA board.

Good Site, Sorry to say not sure if having a video on how to tie a dumalla on the net is a good thing, As any person could download the Video and learn how to tie a dumalla and then robber a bank or some thing, just to give sikhs a bad name.

I belive things like this should be kept Gupt, and one should learn by ask a Gursikh that one knows, if one does not have lots of sangat of Gursikhs then one should ask a Gursikh in a Gurwara.

Also the first cloth that goes on your hair (the Bunga) should be Neela (Blue). This is how purtan Dumalla are tied, Nihang singhs still have Neela Cloth as the firth Cloth touching ones Keshs.

If you dont belive me please listen to Nihang Singh Baba Nihal Singh Ji, Jathedar Taruna Dal. Baba Jee explains how the Dumalla should be tied and the diiferent types, in the audio below.

Sikhi, you do raise a valid point. Its one of things where there will be sangat who disagrees with the video, for the reasons you have outlined, and sangat who agrees with the video being online, for educational purposes - its one of them "no-win" situations. Cant please everyone.

Just one thing though - if a robber is determined to dress as a Sikh and rob a bank they will learn how to tie a dastaar or dumaalaa from somewhere else, should it not be available on the internet.

Singh, I used that as a example, I was try to say that some one could learn how to tie the Dumalla from the internet. Then do some thing bad to give sikhs a bad name.

If some one wanted to do it now, one would first need to keep sangat of Gursikhs, the slowly learn from them. its a lot harder. All some one needs to do now is go online. as simple as that.

I agree with what your outlining totally - but its a question of where we draw the line to this kinda thing. Its like gatka and shaster vidhiya - there are Akharas around the world who go out on the streets and perform gatka when really, that should not be. This is why gatka seems to be turning (turned) into a display marshall art. We shouldnt be revealing secrets and weapons we use in battle.

Theres so many things that we should be stricter on but nowadays everyone just likes to say "allow

it".

Singh understand but, I think we need to be strick with these things, we dont want to end up like other faiths and how they faiths have become 'Westen'

Gora walking around with OM tshirts, not know what they are wearing to them its just cool. Hindu unable to say anything as its to late.

Things should be Gupt, thats the way. When I when Punjab Singh, Nihang Singhs refused to teach me how to tie a dumalla, when I started staying with them, and they got to know me. Then I was told everything I asked about.

We apologize for the difficulties everyone has had with the site so far. All the images have been converted to JPEG format now, which should make it easier to view. With respect to the video, there were technical difficulties that are currently being corrected. We hope to have it up as soon as possible.

The website was designed by a sevadaar who has no previous experience with website design, so please bear with us.

Thank-you for your patience,

sevadars - Mata Bhaag Kaur Jagrati Dal
