for interviews at medical skoolz this question is a standard one.... therefore

Sikh moral thinking

All our ethics are derived from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj, and our Rehat Maryada. Guidance also comes from the example set by the gurus, and from the experience of the Sikh community over the last 500 years.

Euthanasia

We have a high respect for life which they see as a gift from Waheguru. We are against euthanasia, as we believe that the timing of birth and death should be left in Akal Purakh's hands.

The Sikh Gurus rejected suicide (and by extension, euthanasia) as an interference in Waheguru's plan. Suffering, they said, was part of the operation of karma, and human beings should not only accept it without complaint but act so as to make the best of the situation that karma has given them. :umm: - listen to the katha on pain by bhai parminder singh ji

Much of Sikhis moral teaching is devoted to caring for others who are less fortunate.

So with regard to ppl thinking abt euthanasia we should provide them with so much care and love that fot them euthanasia will become an unattractive option.....Akal Purakh will decide when we leave this world...no one else :TH:

The Gurus tackled the problem of sickness and suffering by providing medical relief and alleviation of pain. Sri Guru Arjan Dev JI Maharaj built a leprosarium at Tarn-Taran. Sri Guru Har Rai Ji Maharaj established a hospital at Kiratpur. It is reported that he supplied a rare herb to emperor Jahangir for the serious illness of his son. After all suffering is a part of the human condition and has a place in God's scheme. Suffering also prompts man to turn his thoughts to God; "Suffering is a medicine; happiness is a disease."

O mind, there is only the One medicine, mantra and healing herb - center your consciousness firmly on the One Lord.

So extending the similar logic

why do we have to go to medic at all!!!

Let the karma takes its oun course!

Let the law of karma pervail!

Let alone the God to heal you!

Why interfere with his duties!

Why eat food at all or take water to quench our thrist.

Why have the Law enforcing bodies at all.

Why have the defence mechanism in place.

Veer je I am confused cud u please enlight me on above issues.

Bhul chuk muaf!
