Fateh . . . Watching sikh channel and the sikh museum delhi is being presented. Quite a valiant effort. Comment/observation: We (as sikhs) do not believe in us having paintings of our Gurus as this leads to another debate. . . .. . then how come on this hand I am to explain to others why are we contradicting our own decision. Pls note: I do know that this is an easier way to explain history etc. etc... but will like to hear sangats views/comments on this Fateh ..

VJKK VJKF! Sangat Ji, are there any Singh's (or Singhia) in the GTA area (Ontario, Canada) that do shooting (airguns or guns) or are members of gun clubs? I would love to meet fellow Gursikh's in the area that enjoy shooting and know of places (indoor or outdoor) where we could shoot for target practice etc. Perhaps there is someone here that has private land or knows someone that does where Sikh's could gather and practice target shooting or even archery etc. Even an old barn. If anyone knows then please comment. Thanks. Gurfateh Ji!

Waheguru ji khalsa Waheguru ji fateh Sikhs in US launch million-dollar campaign to stop hate-fuelled attacks Sikhs in the United States are launching a million-dollar awareness campaign that aims to stop hate-fuelled attacks by explaining more about who they are and what they believe. The “We are Sikhs” campaign was years in the making, funded by Sikh leaders and their families across a dozen cities, who have been swept up in anti-Muslim sentiment since the September 11 attacks. Their beards and turbans symbols of equality in a religion that opposes India’s caste system make American Sikhs easy targets for the angry and uninformed. “Our hop…

Bhai Jeevan Singh Ji(Bhai Jaita Ji) is one of the greatest Sikh of the Khalsa Panth. He wrote an amazing granth called 'Gur Katha' Granth. This granth has amazing knowledge about Rehit and about the way of life of a sikh. In this Granth, there is a section called 'Ardaas'. In this 'Ardaas' section, in the 4th swaiya, Bhai Jaita Ji has made it clear that its the duty of every Sikh to be an environmentalist. Below, I am writing the English Translation of the 4th Swaiya. Swaiya Bless the buffaloes O Lord and the cows, that nourish us with milk and satiate the soul. Bless the cattle-keepers who toil with ten nails and yet make merry. Bless thou the lakes, woodland, tre…

Many residents and priests at Sri Gani Khan-Nabi Khan Sahib Gurdwara today demanded the removal of a piggery from the area. The piggery has allegedly been creating panic among people due to swine flu. “Due to the recent Swine Flu cases, we demand the removal of the piggery from the area. It is a nuisance due to the terrible stench in the pig farm,” said Baba Jarnail Singh Karsewa Wale in the gurdwara. Just wondering, it will have been 25 years since Indira Gandhi was shot in 1984 - whats happening in the UK to commemorate the riots...? Any vigils planned? Anything? Is India marking her death anniversary in any way?
