The executive committee of the SGPC today approved radical changes in the Nanakshahi calendar amid voices of dissent raised by three of the 15-member strong SGPC executive and opposition put up by a number of Sikh bodies. The Nanakshahi calendar, which was adopted by the SGPC in 2003 after having been approved by Akal Takht, will almost resemble the Bikrami calendar if the changes approved by the executive were implemented. The proposed changes suggested by the SGPC chief Avtar Singh and the orthodox Sikh organisations led by the Damdami Taksal chief, Harnam Singh, however, will come into force as and when these were endorsed by Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh…

Would anybody happen to know of any work that women can do at home and get paid for. I don't mean to offend anyone, but there are many elderly women who get bored sitting at home; and I have known some that have carried out some of those jobs where you have to thread a string through a label or enclose letters in envelopes, on a large scale. Does anyone know of any jobs like these in the london area. I have someone who is looking for some work like this to keep them occupied at home. thanks in advance.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sangat ji, I just wanted to bring your attention to a problem which I have seen occur in many Sikh communities, we spent alot of time fighting etc. and doing things which in hindsight have not resulted in anything changing for the better. I urge all the Sikh brothers and sisters on this forum to spread the message and make all Sikh Sangtan aware of the tactics which are played upon us by others as a means of gain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7S4dsg19xo I am not in any way spreading hate for Islam, but these people who choose to twist people's opinions and views as a means to convert them are not spreading Islam, their i…

Sat Sri Akal Sangat ji.. I have been sharing my thoughts and getting helpful feedback regarding the good karams. We should be polite and focus on our karams and always do good deeds plus Naam Simran to achieve liberation.. The topic reincarnation covered it all but today I was reading about these gang rapes.. It is so painful to read and imagine what those victims are going through. Most of the rapists are under the influence of an alcohol or drugs but still I wonder what karams those girls have done to go through this. It is really Waheguru's will? Those poor girls are dying in pain.. Of course they want to punish those criminals but most of them die.. Is…
