The punjab police is notorious for being corrupt and partial to bribes. Therefore does it not make sense for Sikh's to be the paymasters of members of punjab police instead of them getting their funds from anti-sikh forces within Punjab and Indian government? We know most of the punjab police members are slaves to the system only controlled by the flow of money. Instead of our kaum's money going to anti-sikh SGPC idiots we should be paying for our own punjab police force and private army to safe guard Sikh national interests.

If so, what bigger thing for ours and others freedom is there than the anti-capitalist protests on right now. Occupy Wall-street (USA - http://occupywallst.org/) & Occupy London (UK - http://occupylsx.org/). If we truly are not sheep's of the system and want to follow the principles of the guru's, shouldn't we as groups (from local Gurudwara's from around the country start meeting and joining forces, then continue into the protest? Then perhaps people might also realise the Sikh people are human activists, which no one is aware of?). It may seem daunting, but are we not supposed to rise against tyranny which is now the people in power (who care not for the average pe…

Stop Religious Profiling in US Airports Michael Chertoff Secretary of Homeland Security U.S. Department of Homeland Security Washington, D.C. 20528 Dear Secretary Chertoff, We are writing to you because we are very concerned about a recent policy shift in screening procedures for the Sikh turban in United States airports. It is our understanding that on August 4, 2007, the Transportation Security Administration ("TSA") changed a longstanding policy on security screenings, recommending that passengers with turbans be pulled aside for secondary searches. This means that millions of Sikh travelers will be singled out based on their religious practice, violating the spi…

It was October 31, 1984, a day like any other with R.K. Dhawan, Indira Gandhi’s special assistant, arriving at 1, Safdarjung Road at 8 am to find the prime minister getting her famous tresses, with the distinctive streak of white rising from the centre, trimmed for a television interview. “She gave me a set of instructions of how she had to receive the president (Zail Singh) who was returning from a trip abroad and a dinner she was to host for a foreign dignitary that evening. She wanted to ensure there was no clash in timings,” recounts Dhawan, now 72. Associated with her for 22 uninterrupted years, Dhawan was often referred to as her factotum, confidant and shadow-all…

Sikhisim Against Miracles Not For
by Guest fordcapri- 0 replies

something id like to share with you Guru Nanak and the other Sikh Gurus raised a voice against miracle making in the name of religion. Ironically historians have spiced their lives with various miracles for the consumption of the lay man. They might have done so partly because of their love and devotion for these saintly figures and partly because they wanted to impress the masses about the divinity of the mission of their masters. Guru Nanak attached no value to the trickeries or incantations, charms and mantras. He deprecates going to graves and crematoria, wandering in doubt from place to place, living in woods, visiting many places of pilgrimages, donning many garbs…
