keeping secrets from your partner 1 2

WGKKWGKF Please serious answers from Amritdharis. I am planning to get married soon. I want to live a good gurmat amritdhari life. But I am in dilemna regarding telling my future wife about my bad deeds before I became a Sikh. By the grace of God I came onto the spiritual path of Sikhism. Before I became a Sikh, I had relations with a girl (no sex). We wanted to get married but it didn't work out. It is in the past and I have since become a sikh. Indeed I see my life before and it feels like it is that of someone else. How am I supposed to share this with my wife to be? Especially as I am now very orthodox and refuse to enter into an emotional relationship before marr…

Looking for a partner 1 2

I am a 22 yr old singh who is looking to get married but there are amritdhaaris in my area and my parents don't know any amritdhaari families. What's the best way of finding a gursikh partner? I've already tried speaking to a few gursikh elders but I got the feeling they had more important things to do.

i met this guy 2 years ago. We both love each other and family knows that too and have no problem with our relation. We both r sikhs. He is not blessed with amrit though but i m. We had s*x before I was amritdhaari but i continued it twice even after being an amritdhaari. It's a bajhar kurehet and i know i m no longer an amritdhaari. Also, I m 20 and he is 21. We cant get married yet because we r not settled enough to get married. I honestly dont want to do peshi but i have asked for forgiveness like 1000 times from guru sahib. and have done lots and lots of paaths till now. I am very confused. I m no longer an amrithdhaari? no logic of wearing 5Ks? no logic of doing nitn…

WJKWHF i wanted to ask that i have not completed my full santheya for guru granth sahib ji but my family wants to move into our new house and my dad wants my family to do the sehaj paath instead of granthis but like i said i havents finished santheya and no granathi is availalbe to give me santheya and my dad says it is not bad to read guru granth sahib if you now perfect punjabi, and i do know how to read punjabo perfectly so should i listen to dad and do the sehaj paath or wait a long time to finish santhya then do sehaj paath ( doing santhya online is going to take a really long time and we want to move into new house before winter)

Want to learn more

Hi. I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now and this is my first post. I was wondering for a while now about Sikhism. I am a Sikh (well I am how I define..) but I have recently wanted to learn more. Being a regular London guy, I go Gurdwara often (would love to go more!) but when I think about I do some things right and other things "wrong" So on my journey to learn more I now read paath on my phone but in English since I can't read punjabi. The question I had was...on my phone is reading this disrespectful?! Is reading whilst on tube to work bad? Sorry if these are silly questions...I just thought you guys could share your opinions and views. How else c…

I am a white girl. I am very open, accepting, and curious about the Sikh religion. I have many Sikh friends who I ask questions of. I live in Surrey BC, and are surrounded by them. A little less than a year ago I started dating a very "Canadianized" Sikh man...I'm just going to refer to him as M for now. He flirted with me for many months actually before I finally said ok I'll go out with you...he had kind of won me over. We started dating and I fell in love WAYYYY too fast, but he kept me thinking he was feeling similar things. After a month and a half or so...I will admit to losing my head one night and I got pregnant. The situation surrounding this is all SO ve…

Dad

my dad wont wear his dastaar when he is going out he will just put a patka on and go. He took amrit in 1993 and used to wear his dastar all the time and his beard would be open. For the last 2 years he has been tying his beard up and wearing a patka the only time he wears a dastaar is to work then straight after when he gets home it is off his head. He always tells me 2 wear one all the time and always lectures me about sikhi. Yesterday he went in the car to the corner shop in the morning and then he was wearing a dastar than goes twice around (better than a patka I guess) and his beard was open then he goes upstairs and takes the dastaar off and ties his beard up and goe…
