I recently started visiting this site to get more knowledge on Sikhism I am not overly religious guy but do believe in God. I go Gurdwara when I can. Recently I read that only Sikhs can get married in a Gurdwara. Me and my girlfriend are getting married soon and she is happy to have a Sikh wedding. Recent events have how ever started to scare me that people out there object to this so strongly we are now considering just having a court marriage or even the Hindu one. Would it be permitted for me to get married in a Hindu temple if Gurdwara is not the right place cause my wife is a Hindu? is this what sikhism is really about? to hate others?

Now lets not get into the raag debate please, thats antoher issue, but my opinion is that non-raag is ok, if its a SIMPLE tune, done purley just to be simple, hwoever this was non-raag made fancy, which i do think is rong. They say they don't use tabbaco but even the flavour can mess up you're inner stoumach linning. The title says it all really. I cant stop wearing it, because my hair started falling out when I was younger from it being tied tight....and have ugly bumps on my scalp from the hair being twisted. I have had numerous discussions with my parents asking why they didnt let me cut my hair when I was younger, but they are ignorant about life and the negative effect it has on my life. I see girls going off with clean shaven guys all the time. Im an intelligent and honest guy but my turban and beard alienates me. Added to that Im not religious so feel fake, I have no option but to keep wearing a turban. It has killed me everyday looking in the mirror and seeing such hair loss…

just a question for the sangat. How much sleep does the body really need? weneneva i wake up for amritvela, i always find that i have to have a nap after simran or later in the day.bcos i just get 2 tired. but how much sleep does the body really need? do people actualy go 2 sleep at say 11pm wake up from amritvela, and stay awake till 11pm the next day?? for regular amrit vela wakers, wats ur sleep needs? patterns? this gupt sections perfect, cos u can b honest without seeming like ur boasting!

I'm not doing any like bujjar kureit or anything but i just hate having kaam...it sickens me...Iv seen all the sites and forums about how to fight kaam but i wanted to no how can I get rid of kaam COMPLETELY. arghhh this is messed up. A sikh regiment would have been a wicked idea, especially with sangat all round, I would have defo joined up aswell!! In the old Sikh regiment during the empire days, the Generals recognised the power of amrit and would only take on soldiers who were Khalsa, the regiment was also allowed 4 hours daily to do meditation and sewa of Guru Sahib!! waheguru je ka khalsa, waheguru je ke fateh! that time in lifes come around and theres a possible rishta in the horizon. the bachuley, the girl and family are coming round in a few weeks was wondering what you should be asking talking about. surely there is only so much you can find out in like 5minutes. surely you would get stuck after the initial, my name, your name, age, hobbies, job. if your old enough to have been in the situation, what should you be asking?

Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
