Waheguru Ji Ki Khalsa. Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I’m planning to are Amrit and I was womdering how long I should wait to take Amrit. Currently I have learned to read Gurmukhi and I do all my 7 banis. I am also practicing to tie a dastar. My hair is only 7 inches and I use a hair extension to make it longer, are hair extensions are allowed in Sikhi? I have not started to practice wearing my 5 Ks yet. I do not eat meat or eggs. Also, does a Amrit Sanchar have to happen on vaisakhi or any day? If it can happen on any day how would you sign up for it or what would you do?

wjkk wjkf. so guru gobind singh ji said to his nihangs/soldiers you can eat jhatka meat in the jungles at times of war etc. due to their a) rigorous and demanding physical training so they need a lot of energy b) in the jungles during times of war they have no food. however now we are not in times of war and so there are not a lot of nihangs that will need to be training at that level where they need meat to sustain their lifestyle. but guru gobind singh ji did allow us this tradition and jhatka is also done as shastar puja as we serve blood to the shastar and do ardaas to maharaj to thank them for the blessing of shastar, help us win in the time of war and show respect t…

For a bit of information - I come from a Hasidic Jewish background, which is where I gained my idea of what/who God is. At its heart, the panentheistic idea of God is the same in Judaism and Sikhi. But Judaism is very ritual based, and I don't want to fall prey to the idea that ritual = connection to Waheguru. I fail to wake at amrit vela, resulting in not doing nitnem paath or simran in the early hours of the morning. I feel like my sikhi saroop isn't there, which makes me feel 'dead whilst yet alive..' I set a routine and slowly it works and then something gets in the way, resulting to failure again. I haven't been consistent with amrit vela, some days are better than others but I feel like I'm sinning. Does this mean I will have to go to pesh to ask for forgiveness as I've initially broken a vow to guru sahib of not waking at amrit vela and doing nitnem bani.. Please any advice would be helpful. Vaheuguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheuguru Ji Ke Fateh I wear my dastaar all the time, though sports, at home, just all day, I try to treat it was repect as my other kakkars. But the problem is I feel guilty taking it off at night, but its not comfortable sleeping with it on, are dumallas more comfortable while sleeping? Some have suggested me that I should just wear a patka, but then why dont we just wear a patka through the day, then other have said saroopa then y don we just wear that through the day. So can you please tell me how you taking care of your hair at night, or your identity?

Hi, so I’ve been doing a quick workout first thing and then getting ready but this morning I felt so bad that I was loosing time during Amrit vela, although I’m doing paat whilst exercising. What do I do? Wake up earlier so I don’t feel guilty or should I workout afterwards? The only time I can fit it in is morning before 6:30 or after 8:30pm which is close to bedtime.

wjkk wjkf i was heading to sleep thinking guru ji and his shaheedi faujaan are ang sang - then i wondered, when one gets darshan of guru sahib, what age are they? I mean to say do they look as they did at the time of their joti jot/shaheedi....or are they much older now? Or younger? I know once they merge into akaal purakh they are timeless - but just a curiosity brainwave.... is the darshan form of shaheed baba fateh singh still 5 years old? Is the darshan form of guru gobind singh still in their jawani? And that of guru nanak dev ji and baba deep singh in their elder years?? sorry it's a weird question but ive never thought about it and now that it came to min…

allowed to take panadol etc...some told me yeah offcourse but on paaji said no?!! im basically in flu, fever, aches, headache..the lot.....so stannnd wellll baaack.....germ attack!.......by all means take em if u want em... i was guna before take it but usually allow myself to get better with hot drinks....i tie my home dumuallla really tight.....and dont go out... :mellow: ..was at gurdvara though earlier and had to basically drag myself out of the darbar hall ready to collapse at ne given moment.....hehe (aaargh...pain) so ne home remedies? panadol? allowed? didnt know where else to post so postin here admin...

back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well. -

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
