  1. What use is there is just talking about him on this forum? He is constantly on Sikh TV 848 in UK - why not put a stop to his koorh (anti-Sikh) parchaar by contacting Sikh TV! Or are we just going to keep talking?!?

  2. Genie, do u exactly know the definition of sehajdari Sikh ? Maybe lookup for the characteristic of this type of Sikh as mentioned in gurdwaras act 1925.. I have many friends and a brother who belong to monay category but they do know their weakness and certainly aware of their limits. Its total messed up when Ppl who are monay and they say that they have full right to have their say in Sikh religious matter or posts such as SGPC member(s).

  4. Mandela has received information that on Sunday 28th August 2011 a major beadbi took place during a wedding in the main Darbar Sahib upstairs. The sangat during the wedding managed to take chairs into the Darbar Sahib and sat on them during the wedding. More than 10 chairs where present after the wedding. Mandela was informed by a local sangat member, Mandela made his way to the Gudwara and saw with his own eyes. Mandela tried to take photos on his phone but was confronted by angry members of the girls side. Mandela then informed the vice president Amrik Sahota and trustee Gurinder Joshan, they shrugged their shoulders and seemed not to care. Mandela phoned a friend to take pictures of where the chairs placed during the wedding. Mandela feels this is such a disrespectful act against Guru Granth Sahib Ji, this is not the first time this has happened. In the downstairs Darbar Sahib Mandela has seen with his own eyes benches have been placed at the back for people to sit on, these have been removed on countless times by local sangat. Mandela feels during the last few months we have seen an increase of beadbi cases in our very on Gudwaras and we must take a stand against these committees which allow it to happen.

  6. The implications of this are much more than including the “ monaiy “ Sikhs. Now, by the official definition of so called "Sehajdhari" Sikhs, the door is wide open to any one of close to one billion non -Sikhs of India for the control of the core institutions of Sikhism. Just think there are only about 20 millions of Sikhs in India as compared to about 900 millions of non Sikhs. If they want, any one of those 900 millions can qualify to vote for the control of the Sikh institutions – all he/she has to say is that he/she is on his way to become a Sikh sometime in future. . It is not merely a case of Keshdhari and non-keshdhari Sikhs. .

  8. Maan is not a bad man. He's Panthic. But feel he is no longer in touch with today's realities. He should retire and pass on the torch to the next generation, hopefully someone younger.

  9. ALL I seriously have to ask myself as a sikh, the way posts have been submitted about this topic it seems as if they are being answered by a young, immature and un-educated audience who really don't know the the true meaning and essence of the sikh religion. The sikh religion is one that showers grace on all regardless of colour, faith or cultural background. Its truly compassionate and everybody is treated as equals striving to serve humankind just like KhalsaAid. To those of you who've posted comments think about why sikhs stood side by side with other communities. Fair enough if this was the other way round, the muslim community would never show the grace we've shown them but don't forget the main difference between the religions is the compassion and humanity we, as sikhs show.

  10. I agree with this. We youth are much better paid than our parents were. We have plenty of maya to go around. We have too many luxuries. If we really cared we would give up 1 or 2 of them to help fund Gurdwaras and projects. But we would rather cry about things. More importantly does this Guru Ghar not have a hall which allows parties?

  11. One thing our elders did was give money to Gurghars. They may have been moneh, not religiously inclined, but they worked day'n'night, overtime after overtime and not only built homes and businesses for themselves but built Gurdwaras for the community. Today's generation, between 2 annual holidays to sum stupid muslim country like dubai, new car, newer house so they don't have to live with the "old folks".. they have become so stingy and in debt. I've seen well paid youth who refuse to spend a penny towards sewa, and when they do, will ask a billion questions like they putting there life savings on it. then go out an blow a few hundred quid in restaurants and cinemas. Our youth is the problem. The religiously inclined ones are very bad spenders and very stingy towards sewa. The moneh just don't want to know. We need to learn from our elders. 300 gurdwaras in this country came though blood, sweat tears and dedication. have we go that?

  12. Hum Hindu Nahin (We are not Hindus) was intended to serve a specific purpose. First is-sued in 1898, this small volume was an early contribution to a current controversy concerning the actual identity of the Sikhs. An earlier legal ruling had declared Sikhs to be Hindus. The title of Bhai Kahn Singh's response makes his own view abundantly clear. It represented the dominant view of the Singh Sabha movement and has ever since retained the fame, which it so quietly acquired. It is worth stressing that the approach adopted in this book is neither hostile nor aggressive. In his presentation he took great care to stress that he sought peace, not discord. To quote: "Dear Member of Khalsa you may be surprised when you read what I have writ-ten. You will ask why there should be any need of such a work as 'We are not Hin-dus' when it is perfectly obvious that the Khalsa is indeed distinct from Hindu soci-ety. Or you may want to know why, if such a work is to be written, there should not be books, which show that we are not Muslims or Christians or Buddhists. This book has been written for the benefit of those brethren to whom the following historical parable applies. The tale, briefly, is as fol-lows. Guru Gobind Singh once covered a donkey with a lion skin and set it loose in the wasteland. Men as well as cattle thought it was a lion and were so frightened that none dared approach it. Released from the misery of carrying burdens and free to graze fields to its heart's content, the donkey grew plump and strong. It spent its days happily roaming the area around Anandpur. One day, however it was at-tracted by the braying of a mare from its old stable. There it was recognised by the potter who removed the lion skin, replaced its pannier-bags, and once again began whipping it to make it work. "The Guru used this parable to teach his Sikhs an important lesson. 'My dear sons,' he said, 'I have not involved you in a mere pantomime as in the case of this donkey I have freed you, wholly and completely, from the bondage of caste. You have become my sons and Sahib Kaur has become your mother: Do not follow the foolish example of the donkey and return to your old caste allegiance. If forgetting my words and abandoning the sacred faith of the Khalsa you return to your various castes your fate will be that of the donkey. Your courage will desert you and you will have lived your lives in vain'. " Many of our brethren are in fact neglecting this aspect of the Guru's teaching. Al-though they regard themselves as Sikhs of the KhaIsa they accept the Hindu tradition. They imagine that it is actually harmful to observe the teachings of Gurbani by ac-knowledging the other. Sikh relgion is dis-tinct from the Hindu religion. The reason for this is that they have neither read their own Scriptures with care nor studied the historical past. Instead they have spent their time browsing through erroneous ma-terial and listening to the deceitful words of the self-seeking. The tragedy is that these brethren are falling away from the Khalsa. They forget the benefits which the Almighty Father has bestowed on them - how he has exalted the lowly raised pau-pers to be kings, turned jackals into lions and sparrows into hawks. Seduced by those who oppose the Gurus' teachings, they are ensnared by deceit and thereby forfeit the chance of deliverance, which this human existence confers. "Our country will flourish when people of all religions are loya1 to their own traditions, yet willing to accept other Indians as members of the same family when they recognise that harming one means harming the nation, and when religious differences are no longer an occasion for discord. Let us practice our religion in the harmonious spirit of Guru Nanak, for thus we shall ensure that mutual envy and hatred do not spread. At the same time, you will grow in affection for all your fellow countrymen, recognising all who inhabit this country of India as one with yourself" http://<banned site filter activated>/writers/KahnSingh/KSNabhaPg2.htm

  13. Then lets make it so that a code of conduct is formed where you must furfil certain criteria to qualify to vote for these institutions (ie must be amritdhari not just keshdhari and you must NOT be allied to any government party and have the interests of Sikhi and Sikhs at heart).

  14. Sahejdhari Sikhs make up approx 85% of the Sikh population worldwide. Banning them is banning the majority total madness and pendu mentality. Good thing they reversed the decision, enemies of Sikhs want to see Sikhism lose adherents and this ban was a good way to make people think they are second class citizens in their own faith. Badal, Tohra, Master Tara Singh, KPS gill were/are keshdari Sikhs, as were various punjab police, criminal members of black cat commando terrorist units. You dont need a pagh and dhari to have loyality to Sikhi and SGGS Ji. As long as you fight for the Sikh cause and bow to no government but and work towards the sarkar of the Khalsa thats all that matters.

  15. This is very interesting, torture and how much the human body can take. It's now been proven in science that a human body can shut down its pain barriers and carry on, these incidents have occurred not only in holy saints but also in many day to day people. For e.g . There was an incident in china where a person had a major operation without the need of pain suppressers; it is beloved to be about controlling and concentration within the body and diverting your thoughts away from the pain. In sports there has been incidents were sports person has occurred an injury and still carried on through the pain barrier e.g. Bernhard Carl "Bert" Trautmann, OBE (born 22 October 1923) is a German former professional footballer who played for Manchester City from 1949 to 1964. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bert_Trautmann ( read the following link for more info), In the 75th minute Trautmann, diving at an incoming ball, was knocked out in a collision with Birmingham's Peter Murphy in which he was hit in the neck by Murphy's right knee. No substitutes were permitted, so Trautmann, dazed and unsteady on his feet, carried on. For the remaining 15 minutes he defended his net, making a crucial interception to deny Murphy once more. Manchester City held on for the victory, and Trautmann was the hero of the final because of his spectacular saves in the last minutes of the match. His neck continued to cause him pain, and Prince Philip commented on its crooked state as he gave Trautmann his winner's medal.[34] Trautmann attended that evening's post-match banquet despite being unable to move his head,[35] and went to bed expecting the injury to heal with rest. As the pain did not recede, the following day he went to St George's Hospital, where he was told he merely had a crick in his neck which would go away.[36] Three days later, he got a second opinion from a doctor at Manchester Royal Infirmary. An X-ray revealed he had dislocated five vertebrae in his neck, the second of which was cracked in two.[36][37] The third vertebra had wedged against the second, preventing further damage which could have cost Trautmann his life. So there are many examples where this has occurred and this not only limited to the Holy saints. You may get further examples on the net , just do search in google.
