  1. With Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj's Kirpa, the UK Sikh Naujawan have got another wedding stopped. The wedding that was planned to take place on the 14th July, between a non-Sikh and a Sikh has been cancelled. The committee of the Gurdwara Baba Wadbhag Singh, Coventry were approached by the UK Sikh Naujawan and it was made clear that these interfaith sham marriages will not be tolerated. The Committee contacted the family and explained that the marriage was not within accordance of the Sikh Rehat Maryada, and was also against the Akal Takhat Sandesh and would therefore be cancelled. NOTE: There has been a lot of hate directed towards the Sikhs who oppose interfaith marriages both by the british media and unfortunately some sell-out Sikhs. These weddings are against the Sikh rules, as only a Sikh and Sikh can get married in the presence of Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. If anyone has a problem with these marriages being stopped then please take it up with the Gurdwara Committees that book the marriages, as they know full well what are the rules and the correct protocols. The fault does not neccessarily lie with the family whose children are messed up, and to mess things up further, they have their Bhezti done in front of their friends and family when a wedding has to be stopped by force. The Gurdwara Committees are fully responsible for these Void marriages taking place, and this should be addressed. Our Bhenti to the Sadh Sangat is to please contact your local Gurdwara's, explain what is happening and to avoid causing problems at the Gurdwara's, to please contact the families that have booked these interfaith sham marriages and tell them that they have been cancelled.

  2. Our Gurus were patrons of wrestlers who were attached to their Courts - the pehlwani tradition or knowledge of should be part of our heritage. There was a great website about traditional Punjabi sports with good articles and pictures of Punjabi pehlwani of yesteryear - wish I'd saved it in my favourites...If I locate it I'll post.

  3. All sham Anand Karaj's now being booked are done so for money. parbandhaks have to be living in hole, under a rock, in a cave if they don't know about the Maryada.. and if they don't, their not fit to be a parbandhak anyway. Therefore, these sham Anand Karaj's are a defiance by greedy anti-gurmat committee's. Hence pre-planning is not possible, these weddings will have to be cancelled last min.. 4 weddings have been stopped over the last few week.. More are planned... those that work with the community to resolve will remain gupt.. the rest.. expect last min protests

  4. Yes in India they call him the Bapu of India, it would be difficult to call him that now. Then there is Chacha Nehru a person he spent most of his adult life as an adulter including an affair with Mountbattens wife, eventually he died of a STD. Then you have the daughter of the nation Indira , enough said about her. So there you have India's family, not one you would like to know!

  5. the only real alternative is for sikh intellectuals to form a new political party and get popular with the marginalized sections like dalit sikhs, bhayiyas as well as panthic supporters - there is no dearth of them as was evident from outpouring of support during rajona's case - call it something secular like ENSAAF party - and if we manage to form govt , we can get sikh jujharoos out of jail , initiate proceedings against police officers such as gill, saini, sandhu, alam ..... Also then we can build all the memorials and even spend some of the tax money to educate people about sikhi principles as well as all the evil done to us so the key is to win democratic mandate - as they say , jisdi lathi osdi majh - we will then be able to defeat them at their own game.

  6. Also Badal honoured dushts such as Advani, made Sumedh Saini DGP, gave ticket to Azhar Alam............................................................................................................... Yet many Sikhs are supporting Badal such as Sant Samaj and Jathedars of Takhts. Badal even got "pride of the panth award" from Akal Takht. What hope is their for the Sikh Panth? The disease of Akali Badal needs to be eradicated from the SGPC. It is the SGPC and Akal Takht that have the power but they are being controlled by their boss, Parkash Singh Badal. Sri Akal Takht and SGPC are religious institutions but have unfortunately been infiltrated with mayadhari-minded people. We need to rid the disease of politics from these institutions. We need to free these institutions immediately form the grip of corrupt politicians. Until then we will continue to suffer. Satguru Mehar Karan!

  10. It was only Sikhs who took over areas like Multan and Peshawar after 834 years and adjoined them back to India. These areas had permanently become part of Afghanistan and no other community in India ever thought about freeing them just like India has forgotten part of Kashmir under Chinese occupation. Further, Sikhs stopped all foreign invaders once and for all. Again, no other community could do it. Granted Marathas fought the Mughals but their end goal was to establish their own kingdom while completely disregarding rest of the country. Marathas were inspired by Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. Samrath Ramdas met Guru Sahib and was greatly inspired and he instilled the same teachings to his disciple Shivaji. However, when the time came for Shivaji to be inaugurated, he was denied this right due to his caste. So he paid 49.6 million to be upgraded to a higher caste and also on the condition that he would run his kingdom according to the advice of Brahmins who had him commit utmost atrocities on his own subjects especially Shudras. Marathas destroyed Hindu temples outside of their own territory. They never stopped any Muslim invader from taking away Hindu men and women as slaves. In fact, they proudly gave away their women to Mughals to keep their sovereignty. On the other hand, the Sikhs freed Hindu slaves and also took them back to their homes. One time 2200 Maratha women were saved and taken back to Maharashtra. Sikhs helped anyone who was being oppressed. Rakhi system setup by them protected all regardless of their religion, caste etc. Sikhs never destroyed any religious place or enslaved anyone even when they plundered other territories. Sikhs setup Four Takhats (thrones) in all four corners of India to establish Khalsa Raaj that would be united and to protect India from all sides. Therefore, Sikhs are the only nation that saved India. Guru Rakha

  12. Doesn't it seem a bit...I don't know, illicit? Especially with little kiddies running around? What are these so-called sevadaars doing exactly? Stolen glances across the darbar? Akh-mataka in the langar hall? It's pathetic, it really is.

  13. Headgear compulsory for Sikh women cops in Punjab police June 28, 2012 by Sukhpal Kaur Source: www.punjabnewsline.com Wednesday, June 27, 2012 - CHANDIGARH: Akali government might project itself as the sole representative of Sikh identity and principles when it comes to the issue of ban on turban in France but the very same government in its rule and soil has made it compulsory for all the women police officials to wear headgears including Sikh women as well. Meanwhile, the issue of headgear worn by Punjab policemen with a frill is still not resolved. The percentage of Sikh women cops is about 57 per cent and many of them are Amritdhari (baptized) as well. Even a non-Sikh knows that Sikhs do not wear headgears or helmets as it is against the principles of Sikhism. Akal Takht Jathedar Gyani Gurbachan Singh has maintained silence on this whole issue. On the one hand, SGPC and Akal Takht are instrumental to protect the interests of the Sikh community abroad, while in Punjab which is known as ‘Land of the Gurus’, they have proved unsuccessful in maintaining the dignity of ‘Dastar’. This is completely prominent from the fact that the new women recruits have no other option but to wear headgears during duty hours. Meanwhile, many new recruits in Punjab police lamented (on condition of anonymity) that the whole development is completely against Punjab culture. Earlier, women cops wore Salwar-Kameez and dupatta which has been replaced by shirt-trouser and the headgear has come as another shock to them. Questioning Akal Takht jathedar’s stand on the headgear issue, they said in such a scenario Sikh girls will never be able to join police forces. Lambasting at SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkad, who is ready for staging dharnas on Delhi roads, they said he should intervene as soon as possible to protect the interests of Sikh community. As per the sources, Jathedar Takht Kesgarh Sahib Trilochan Singh in his letter vide 656, dated May 24, 2012 appealed Gyani Gurbachan Singh to find out solution to the grievances faced by the cops from Sikh community. Now the ball is in Gurbachan Singh’s court, as to when he will issue a ‘hukamnama’ against the Akali government for compelling the Sikhs to wear a headgear? Source: Punjab Newsline Network
