  1. Dear _Guest_ as long as your business= investment/trading does not deal with: theft extortion drugs, alcohol, meat, prostitution, or any of its branches, and does not harm anyone, by word, thought and action, neither does it trespass the law of righteousness(dharma), neither do you cheat your customers, nor suck the blood of your workers, if any at all, you should not feel guilty at all, that is indeed honest living. Honesty has to do with consciousness in normal conditions .... though I am quite aware that sinners have no consciousness ... But from your talking and your attitude, I perceive ...... that you are honest. The motor behind anything immoral: is the focre of ego and greed combined together. Ego can not be eliminated so easily by us, but at least we should control greed, so that it may not ruin us. History has ample examples of these greedy people: like Ravan, like Hitler, like Duryodhan ...and an endless list of more such individuals... who inspite of acheving, name, fame, high status ....died like beasts.

  2. Many factors come into play in this question. Firstly, your boss stating that there is not much honesty in trading, gives an idea of what his intentions are and where his limitations would be. Maybe he has the idea that if you want to reach the sky, then rules may need breaking and honesty may not be kept fully. Therefore, One factor is that you have to ask yourself what your honest intentions are to succeed and up to which point you don't cross the line. Trading is a bit of a gamble because you are in effect playing with money to make more money, and it can go both ways. But you have to ask yourself, how do you see it differently to gaming in a casino ? Another few factors to look at at any job/industry is to try and picture yourself in the whole global circle that gets affected. Let's say you are A, and you get your money from B via C. Then you have to look at it from a birds eye view to see how B gets from C,D,E,...etc...and how C may influence or affect anyone else like C,D,E,F..etc... Then if you can't see anyone losing out or being betrayed/double crossed or taken advantage of in a sequence of events, then you may understand and see if your contribution is entirely honest AND giving an honest outcome to ALL Sadly, I see a lot of ''Blind' dishonesty happening when people don't even realize through pure ignorance. It's important that you try your best not to affect anyone's emotions in a negative way., and being in a competitive trade can be a huge challenge for this. Especially when you end up undercutting and winning the other persons trade all under the simple banner of 'competition'. But if the other 3rd party ends up totally screwed and has to re-evaluate their whole life and family because of this loss, then you have to ask yourself '' Was it in all fairness, did I do it without any negative repercussions in mind for 3rd party, were my intentions all purely positive for everyone as a whole or just myself ??...........''

  3. Don't know if it has been posted before already, but here it is: Anyone know Bhai Sahibs name? I remember he was on Sikh Channel some time ago but didn't notice his name. Other recordings of his or other Paathis are welcome!

  9. Would it be possible for Akal Takht (or any Sikh organisation) to approach someone like KS Makhan, who became Amritdhari last year, and get him or other(s) singers to start a campaign against the gundh in the music songs/videos? Someone like KS Makhan or another singer(s) may be able to influence through words, their peers to persuade them not to make these songs/videos. However, I wouldn't be surprised if singers who have record/video contracts don't want to go against the companies, and are afraid of not being able to make money.

  10. On the subject Apna punjab hove, we have a song talking about the relaxed life of the jatt at home sitting on his manja. Then eating his onion, ghee, saag and makhi di roti prepared by his homely mother. Many punjabis like this relationship tied in with rural village life in punjab, but the home mad sharaab is just completely unnecessary. I mean does the jatt have his kind mother cooking and cleaning for him and feeding him endless rotis with ghee and sagh whilst he sits there on his manja like a nawaab or royal figure drinking and pouring his desi liquor ?? I'm sure that every mother would love that job of serving the drunken son. :nono: For Gurdas Maan fans out there, you will all know that in his last verse he always sends a message which is usually somewhat meaningful and sensible. However in this song he says - apne goriyan kolohn haal puchann pind da, marjaney mana kio punjab janda kinda, kadey kisey rahi kolon vaak na janaab hove'- -I ask my fellow villager about the state of Goriyan (village) -Oh, why my humble Mann is punjab disintegrating ? -Never from any ravi or from the ravi(river) should the chenab river be separated. So here he has gone on to talk about the partition of the river ravi and chenab in pakistan punjab and India, and the punjab of now disintegrating. ........But this sober verse has drifted from the message of staying sober, where the previous lines about jatt and his sharaab are what contributes to the bad times of punjab in the 1st place !! Contradicting ?? Anyway, it reminded me of his early somewhat anti-sharab song 'Vadiya sharibian ve' - which was sang as if the liquor was speaking to the alcoholic. ''Vadiya sharibiya ve, meh hanh sharab teri, ginh ginh tereh meh hasabh laoughi, aaj tu menu pindha kal meh piungee'' It was saying that - ''you are the big drunk always finishing and emptying me, BUT I shall keep an account (ginh ginh tereh meh hasabh laounghi) of all the times you have drank and finished me, then one day, tomorrow, I shall drink and finish you.'' Meaning that in the end the liquor will win and stay whilst the alcoholic's lfe will come to an end on account of this very liquor. This was the type of song that gave the message of what the outcome becomes of any drinker out there. I think some of you guys should understand about what I said about his earlier music and songs compared to later stuff. He is now simply a disgrace to his own self and earlier image/respect that was gained solely through love of music back then. Nowadays every thing is done from and for the wallet and not the love of God in any way.

  11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, As I have been getting older and hopefully with the blessings of Maharaj, a little more able to understand baani, i have been reading a lot of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji, cross referencing with many different great scholars interpretations and wanted to raise the topic of Durga/Bhagauti ji? I dont mean to offend anyone or their beliefs by raising this topic, i would just like a deeper understanding of this matter. I am aware of the interpretation of Adi Shakti and the interpretations of Bhagauti being a sword, however this begs the question to what Bhagauti stands for then when at the start of Chandi Di Vaar, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj writes: ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਜੀ ਸਹਾਇ ॥ ਵਾਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥ ਪਾਤਸਾਹੀ ੧੦ ॥ Now im humbly an okay reader of Gurmukhi but everywhere you look into the translations, the first interprets ਭਗਉਤੀ as a sword, then when speaking of the poem of Bhagauti in the sentence directly after, everyone interprets ਭਗਉਤੀ as Durga Maa in every translation. Why and how is this the case? If ਭਗਉਤੀ means the sword then would the tale of Chandi Di Vaar not make sense and why does it mean different in the next sentence? and if it is Durga Maa then whats the big deal and why do people get really offended when this is raised because isn't she just the sargun personification of the Adi Shakti of Akaal Purakh ji? And by interpreting it in this way its not in any way forgetting Akaal Purakh or worshiping another its just a way of understanding an aspect right? In addition to this, wouldnt all the beautiful puratan swaroops of Dasam Granth Sahib Ji make more sense this way as they have pictures of Durga? I am very sorry if this offends anyone or i have made grave mistakes or been misled, im just humbly trying to expand my knowledge and understanding and would greatly appreciate if anyone could help? thanks sangat ji.

  12. According to sant gurbachan singh ji bhindranwale katha where he quoted from amar kosh and indicated bhaugati to have four meaning - 1. Akaal purkh including all sargun aspects (sargun and nirgun is one non dual ikongkar leaving no room for duality) 2. Kirpan- Sri Sahib (sargun aspect) 3. Bhagvati durga Chandi (sargun aspect) 4. Aad Shakti( shakti maya-sargun aspect-shiv shakti) All four forms of interpretations are accepted and used depending on the context of gurbani in sri dasam granth sahib, you cannot confine bhaugti to (nirgun only when clearly in shabd its mentioning sargun manifestations of that nirgun) and and overall you cannot confine to one sargun aspect(sri sahib only) while totally rejecting other sargun aspects which is all sargun personfication of aad shakti/akaal purkh.

  13. Gaytri Mantra because that's what it refered to in puratan granth I beleive. Hindus also have their own Mool Mantra - OM Satchitananda.. fairly popular used. What's next stop calling Sikh Mool Mantra as Mool Mantra because hindus have their own. Unbelievable paranoia, fear and insecurity, in next 50 years our traditional names will be reduced to dust if we keep following this type of mentality.

  17. As per my personal experience even after 40 years of research in ruhaniyat, there is certainly a need of a mediator to understand Gurbani. And that is because, the Bani of our Guru Sahibans is pure, is paviter, and as such, is expressed by higher level of Consciousness. On the contrary, we are moorakhs, mugadhs, we are stone heartened... how can we ever understand it ? Our minds are dirty, so we are manipulators, there is no way.....unless we are fortunate enough, to come in the sangat of a Gurmukh, a Sadh.... that is it. The ambrosial Bani is full of praises of this type of Gurmukhs. There is a faboulous Shabad which illustrates this affirmation: Sun Sajjan preetam mereeya, meh Satgur devoh dikhaal. Here, the sikh , the soul is praying to the Lord, by asking Him to make him meet with a Satguru, a Gurmukh... Let us pay attention to its depth, its beauty.... the soul is not asking Wahiguru to reveal Himself, so to have His darshan; but is rather asking Him, to make him meet with a Gurmukh. We may be surprised, and ask why so? Why not directly? Well such is the path designed by Him.... nobody can go back to Him, without the mediator in the form of a Gurmukh, a Sadh.... a Brahamgyani, a Sant Jan .... That is why also, the Bani says: Awar kaaj tere kitteh na kam, mil Sadh Sangat, bhaj kewal Nam. The Bani says, nothing else is of your avail, leave everything aside, just take refuge, take shelter under a Gurmukh, get from Him the Gurparsad, and do its kamaee, or Nam Bhakti. Christ also says: nobody can go unto the Father except through me. He who has seeth me, has seen the Father, for I and the Father are one. Christ was a Gurmukh, and He also clears our doubts by saying, that nobody can go and meet Wahiguru just like that, but until He(Christ, Gurmukh, Sadh...) Himself opens the inner doors of the chambers of His Court, because Wahiguru has kept the key of His Chamber, in the hands of these Gurmukhs. And so we may ask, what is this key? Well the Bani says, it is the Gurparsad of Nam, which we saw in the above tuk: Mil sadh Sangat... for what? Let us think... is it to have coffee and tea with them? Or to go to the cinema, or do wordly business, etc etc etc.... No none of these things, but to humbly go and spread our jholees, and get the Gurparsad from them... as the Bani says: jis vakhar ko laen toon ayaah, Ram Nam, Santan ghar paayaah... I am quite consciouss, many may get offended and say all this is rubbish, but it is not their fault, as it is that what we have seen and heard since we were born...since some several hundred years back, so what the Bani really means, is something very different to what we perceive or the way we perceive. No matter if one has done PHd or masters in Gurbanism or sikhism....this is not a worldly science... Sikhism is the science of the soul and its creator Wahiguru, so naturally only a true Master, a Gurmukh can only make us understand what all true Gurmukhs have said, and stated in their Bani... Gurmat is the language used by these higher souls .... and we are ignorants, maha moorakhs, blind... The Bani says: main andhuley kee tek, tera Nam adhaar. Means we are all blind, and unless we take the support of Nam, we can not move even an inch towards our goal Wahiguru. No true Gurmukh comes to make any new dharam or religion. It is we stupid humans who have limited thier Bani, within the limits of our minds and by mixing it with politics and rituals, rites, idol worship, etc.... The goal of any Gurmukh, is only to make us merge in Wahiguru, irrespective of gender, caste, creed, dharam, mazab, social status, nothing of that sort which is related to the body, but they emphasize on only one thing: bhaj kewal Nam .

  18. Moviebox are a Pakistani Muslim Jatt owned record label who control the largest percentage of the Bhangra artists and the Bhangra industry. No wonder they don't give a damn at our community destroying itself via the insidious promotion of caste, alcohol, nashay and lack of respect for women in the records that they market, distribute and hugely profit from. These Muslim Jatts drive Ferrari's by promoting poison to our community. Only that in this case they're not physically selling drugs as the Pakistani's are famous for ... they have artists (who claim to be Sikh) doing their dirty work for them
