  1. In answer to a question posted a few days ago - ^ are your intellectuals. Although I don't 100% agree with every point, there is a reasonable legitimacy in each point op makes Khalistan is always the alternative to a punjab in India where Sikh/Hindus/minorities can coexist, neither can be ruled out in the long term.. the fear the minorities have of a khalistan government breeds hatred. Until we have their trust and support a Khalistan movement won't become a achievable political goal. Just waiting for the backlash now - wish I wrote this gupt lolz Where the dere get ther support is from them being seen to be nice to the poor, no public in-fighting and good pr.. places we need to improve to become a viable political solution. OP if you helped push a formalized method of support/education for the poor I'm sure you get some good responses.
  2. Any news bhai daduwal? What is he being held on? Are the above mentioned baba's harassing the authorities on that front???
  3. The government is corrupt in genera whether its Sikh/hindu/muslim/Christian, calling it a Hindu government let's the Sikh traitors of the hook!
  4. Karkoosingh, pajis original post is correct, the sword is raised to defend or protect.. bhai bhanda singh used his sword to stop atrocities for occurring again.. raising the sword has to be used to reach a positive humanitarian/social outcome not to appease our desire for revenge or blood thirstyness. Before we raise our swords in the current situation the world needs to be shown who the tyrant is, means we can't be vilified and then slaughtered again under the false portrayal as a terrorist. Khalsa comes from khalis meaning shud. Shud = righteous/pure. That's the bar guru ji set for his soldiers not just his brahmgianis. Wjkwjkf
  5. A wise person once gave me an excellent lesson on the subject of hate.. they said read the zafarnama when you feel you hate somebody then reflect on whether u really hate the person afterwards..
  6. Should bhaj Sahibs wishes be respected; with regards to him requesting no appeal against his death sentence? It's seems Badal is against the honorary titles awarded by the akal takht to both bhai sahibs otherwise he would have endorsed them.. hopefully the media badger him into making clear his stance and details of what the steps they have taken on the matter. Truth is the mainstream media won't go there, the Badal monarchy are too powerful and would make a an un-enviable foe.
  7. how refreshing to read a well balanced and even minded discussion.. sorry to go off subject (i only replied to keep the subject high up discussion page) hope the ill-disciplined and restraint lacking penji's/paaji's fight the urge to chuck there "talibanesque" ideology on here
  8. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Golden-Temple-Amritsar-Harmandar-Sahib-Indian-Asian-Sikh-Art-Painting-Singh-Guru-/160748247747?_trksid=p3286.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6632128730687744434 My first eBay auction has gone live, not sure if I've priced it fairly or not.. considering the quality it seems reasonable.. would welcome any feedback, I will continue to offer substantial discount Sikh Sangat members.
  9. glad you liked it, i've got the same image up in a rustic metalic silver/black frame, its different and looks really good il email you a snap another pic that needs a home attached, size 30"x20" (inches)
  10. Silly thread, do something positive.. talking bout these plonkers gives them free publicity..
  11. I don't know of anyone personally, doubt a person deserving of such darshan would brag about it, if you haven't already seen the video below you might find it a good watch.. Out interest where does the question come from?
  12. There is no doubt guy is a maha-moorakh.. It baffles me there is no real reformation movement considering the damage being done to perception of the banis by our current/former panthic administrators.. Also I think some consideration needs to be given to introducing a Sikh media (pr strategy) watchdog to give guidance to the ever expanding Sikh media, too many divvies given Mic time. Time for intelligent singhs across jathebandis to sit down and create some common agendas (invitation only events mind lol) Forgive me for going off on a tangent
  13. I think I've lost a lot of respect for Mr Kohli after reading that, he got two key points wrong 1. It's not a ceremonial dagger 2. A small kirpan is not substitute. I will say he is entitled to air his opinion and before someone suggests it isnt rss mole, or Indian govt plant, or even enemy of Sikhs.. just lacks understanding of the faith. Sikh>secularist
  14. Hi khaalis, due to volume of current workload its not possible to commit to any long term projects immediately, however I can send you images of available artwork and let you know if the situation changes. your email address seemed to be only partly visible, can you pm it.
  15. Hey gurd, that is an awsome image, its not an art form my cous has practised and is unsure if he could do that image justice by recreating it - also it would be difficult to practice and uphold the sanctity of the shabd. It is a high res image and it fits A4 perfectly (may have been original size) printing it using a good printer on high quality paper might be worth giving a go or alternatively having it enlarged on a printed canvas (just about every big shopping centre has a kiosk offering this service). confused singh - paaji i will send you images on the email address you have provided me with; as i mentioned in my earlier post - until i am sure there is no copyright conflict i wont be posting any images online (better be safe then sorry)
  16. oil paintings have arrived, however I can't yet upload as I need to do some homework on the copyright front (something i've overlooked!). I have attached a hand-drawn image of guru nanak dev ji so you can see the quality of the work - it looks so much better up close. once ive figured out where i stand legally i will be uploading images on ebay so watch this space! I've had a few pm from guys want me to mail them images once available - i will do send out half a dozen different images once I've sorted out the above issue anyone else wanting adding to the mailshot please pm me your email add- the paintings are wonderful (uk only please)
  17. im partly agree with singhstah, our kaum has played a part in this situation... any ideas how we can move to resolve or improve? or is condemning others for their misgivings and causing problems in our own kaum going to be the legacy of the early 2000's?? I thinks its time to move to a more positive outlook and look at inspiring each other and people around us rather than asking questions such as the OP
  18. i hear you brother, in the end the whole story was about how fragile sikh emotions are that they cant take a bit of banter that wasn't even directed at them (the media slant not mine before im gunned down). did leno make a sincere apology or did he just crack another joke?
  19. i was brought up with cut-hair, but before i decide to grow my hair i kes i would like to conqour many other a personal demon what order I take my steps towards the guru is not to be judged by any other then akalpurakh, my physical declaration of faith is between myself and waheguru - some peoples views expressed here are far beyond warped and show little compassion for people who are begining their spiritual journey or have not come across the grace of the guru ....YET. more focus should given to how to waken the spiritual soul of the kaum and how to get them to participate in positive social and charitable events run by sikh sevadar - waheguru will do the rest!
  20. probably many freinds and a few with very little love for sikhs - i dont see the need to tar all with the same brush or to call anyone a foe. if anything i think its time for dialogue to be opended up by respected pillars in our kaum - trouble is if this happened they'd be called gadars for sitting down with the enemy... i think sikhs are truly our own worst enemy (sorry for going off on a tangent) tis my humble opinion wjkf
  21. thanks for your reply bhaji, I've had some paintings posted over to me, they should arrive within the next week or so, I will upload images on arrival I will pm you my email address so you can send me a copy of the picture you would like painted/drawn, wjkf
  22. The title is possibly a little misleading, I'm not advertising an ebay auction (if the mods and sangat dont mind i may do shortly). Just wanted an opinion from veer n pehn ji's. I have a relative in punjab in who is a pretty brilliant artist (in my view), he sells some of his sikhi related artwork in the local town for pittance and this is generally his way of feeding the family. I was thinking of listing some of oil paintings and sketches on ebay as I'm sure if there are plenty of people like me out there that would like high quality work such his for very reasonable prices - at the same time he'll make a more comfortable living. Before I go ahead and list some of his images on ebay I wanted to know if I'm likely to face any kind of a backlash or if theres even a market for artwork? His artwork is generally of gurdware or modified reproductions of the images of guru's in the mainstream.
