  1. Does anyone know how we can send money to the family in Punjab of the Singh Sahib? Is there anyway we can support his widow and daughter?
  2. Benti. Please post any details on this Singh Sahib's funeral. Sangat should take time out to attend the funeral of this true hero...... Dhan Guru Dhan Guru Piyaray.....
  3. Very informative programme. I hope that the the dera ex-sewadar Beant Singh gets the right support from the Sikh kaum, there's no doubt the sirsawalay cult will now be on his back and his family's back!

    Outraged!

Just an observation...Admin/Mehtab Singh seem quick to intercept this thread yet let postings galore on sikhsangat.com regarding the slander of others. Admin did not step in during the constant repetitive slander of Baba Ranjit Singh for example and let that roll on sikhsangat for days... I hope to see Admin/Mehtab Singh react just as quick on the slander of others...
  6. Does "mai ka lal" translate as son-of-a-<banned word filter activated>??
  7. "Re-introducing" Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji back into the Gurdwaras was not going be straight forward. The worldwide Sikh Sangat have limited knowledge of not just Dasam Bani but also the maryada of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji. So based on this you can brand those people "anti-panthic" or simply misguided. Now is the time for the people in the know to come forward and guide the confused (sadly this is not happening). Explain the protocol of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib, do more vichaar of Dasam Bani..don't expect an overnight change..Instead of the UK organisers of Babaji's barsi trying to squeeze their faces on the Sikh Channel cameras, spend more resource on holding the sangats' hand through the bhog of Sri Dasam Granth.. Look at it this way. The global Sikh world saw a broadcast which introduced them to Sri Dasam Granth for the first time in their lives, be it only 1.5 hours. Think how progressive that is... now start explaining why Sri Dasam Granth should be coming back into our lives..don't just focus on finger pointing those who don't agree with you...
  8. Hehehe! Welcome to Sikhsangat.com and the karchi kol karan walay who live amongst us...There's some professional sewage stirrers who use this forum..who wait to create nice big pungay...
  9. Try Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College in Chigwell, Essex. I think the langar hall is quite large and they won't have an issue with kirtanis. The Ramgharia Gurdwara in Forest Gate also does not have a major issue with non-residential Kirtanis (the caste committee culture may be an issue to some) Also the Gurdwara in Alice Way, Hounslow has a large langar hall as well as the Brent Sikh Centre in Kingsbury but you may have the kirtani issue. Guru Nanak School in Hayes has a big langar hall and they may accomodate other the kirtanis.
  10. I wish the sewadars/organisers would have explained and guided the Sangat through the Bhog of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji.... This was a complete different experience for normal Sangat and where the familiarity of the usual protocol of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj exists (i.e Slok Mahala 9, followed by Ragmala and then Japji Sahib and Anand Sahib) that same familiarity with Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji does not exist at this present time. If the re-emphasis of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji is going to take place then those in the know need to spend even more time guiding the sangat through Dasam Bani and the Maryada. Just my view. Please don't take this personal.....
  11. As some of may be committed to other local programmes, a benti to the sewadars to put up recordings on the internet of the Akhand Path so that moorakhs like me can experience Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Akhand Paath. It would be really appreciated. Thanks
  12. Has anyone got full diwan good quality video recordings of Sant Ji's speaches which can be broadcast? The problem I've found is there's very poor sound quality short recordings floating around. Youtube is flooded with cheap re-re-re-mixes showing the same clips and images of Santji. If someone knows of anyone who has full unedited footage then perhaps they should get them down to the studios and see what happens.
  13. What's classified as "mixed breeding" in your dictionary. A poodle marrying a doberman? A donkey marrying a giraffe? Black person marrying white person? Jutt marrying a chamar?.....Ludhianawala marrying Jalandharwala?...Sant liker marrying Sant Hater?.... or........the dreaded Sikh marrying (wait for it Fordcapri, wait for it......) a.....M U S L I M.... Anyway are you really refering to multiculture or "multifaith"? Culture can refer to ethniticity, geographical region, demographic group, social group etc..Culture can be evolving..Culture can change..Culture can adapt...Perhaps refer to your ustaads at the BNP on what their definition of culture really is? How pure is your breed ..Fordcapri??? How strong is your sense of identity and heritage?? Please tell us how you portray your specfic breed, identity and heritage in Britain today and what makes you superior from those who accoriding to you don't?
  14. How did this topic go so "off topic"???? People need to really knuckle down and focus on topics in isolation, otherwise things keep going round in circles and real issues become irrelevant.
  15. [quote name='proactive' date='17 December 2009 - 06:23 AM' timestamp='1261031023' post='443364 3. That Harish guy took his 'tiffin box' to the gym! LOL. You can take the Indian out of India but you can't take the tiffin away from the Indian.... Sounds like another corny episode....
  16. Multiculturalism only works if you exlude bigots like Fordcapri.
  17. Thanks for the collections of articles. Let's see if the CPS investigations holds the Police accountable for Blair Peach's murder. Many of my relatives stood there that day and got beaten up by the Police. White Britain hated us in 1979 and still thought they would bulldoze us out of the country. The whole system was against us, the brutal tactics of the Police on April 1979 showed what we were up against. Inoccent Sikh women and children were hit with truncheons for just being on the Southall streets that day. Sikhs or any other Asians did not walk the streets (even in Southall) in the dark as "paki" bashing was common occurance. Gurdeep Singh Chaggar was killed by Skinheads on the streets of Southall...On the 23 April day Southall Sikhs took a massive stand and changed the face of Southall. The Skinheads never came back and organised gang beatings of turbanned men or NF "paki" bashing disappeared. The NF became the BNP , as we know them today...And those Skinheads have become BNP "party" members
  18. My Friend... it's evident that your problem appears to be more specific with the Akhand Kirtan Jatha than the Sikh Channel.
  19. Great another newbie stirrer above..all you wanted to do is stir trouble with this post. It's amazing to see people refer to the term "beg" for a Panthic project when it's really a "responsibilty"..but if you lack a panthic mindset then you will only be good for seeing the worst in the panth and attacking anything that is an intangible benefit to the Panth Why blame the Sikh Channel for the difference in opinions that exist in todays Panth... Like any other media, the Channel has to attempt to present a balanced viewpoint of the Panth as it stands today, it shows different Sikhs and their opinions which we can't escape from. In everyday Sikh life there are Sant haters, Sant lovers, Ragmala promotors, anti-Ragmala promotors, Dasam Bani/Anti-Dasam Bani promotors, Meat promotors, Vegetarian promotors etc. These differences (whether we like it nor not) exist and it's this mix which makes up the Panth at this presence in time. All the Sikh Channel are doing is giving Sikhs their TV voice, but many of us are so engrosed in our own self-importance we can't see that. Why compare Sikh Channel to Brit Asia? Do we not have a panthic obligation to promote and financially support a Sikh Channel? Are we expecting it to be funded by some millionaire because collectively the Global Sikh community were incapable to set a channel up? Ludhiana attack on Sikhs would not have recieved the pro-panthic coverage on any other channel. If you can't think of any benefit of the channel, then at least realise that the coverage is essential and our responsibilty is to ensure that media voice exists, because there's worse to come... This kind of consistant assault on the ONLY Sikh Channel (the ONLY TV voice that we have) is an assault on our Voice. People now need to get off their big backsides and start taking positive step towards ensuring we have the correct "INFRASTRUCTURE" in place for the coming years (a Sikh Channel is key in this), especially with what will happen in Punjab in those coming years...
  20. As an Old Singh once told me...Know your enemy but never hate your enemy, you will always think objectively that way....Having a clear head allows for a clearer assault on the enemy..
  21. I agree with Only Five on this one. This just shows niavity when challenged in a playground fight. A Poster fight will be nothing more than a clash of egos. BSSF, to me you appear to be jumping on whatever bandwagon you can to gain some kind of panthic legitimisation. I seem to remember you jumped gungho into the already 'blown up' Babbu Maan issue and again this race to be the first and original. Please do represent yourselves at Singh Sabha Southall this weekend so that the Sangat can see who you are. Give us some confidence that your not just an young angry internet voice and can interact in panthic concencus decision making.

  23. Hoshiarpuria, Can you get these alleged "so many of the youth organisations" to get off their big fat bottoms and actually do something for the kaum instead of moaning!! Even better...Can you list these alleged "so many" organistations ....or is this one of your usual jealous & baseless attacks to stir trouble??
  24. Are these actual images of the Shaheed Singh...Thesei are one of the most inspiring images I have ever seen..A true Gursikh...
