Exactly ! I seen some religious sikhs they use this "hukam" concept as a scapegoat for their own shortcomings and lethargy ! Its a shame that people rely on hukam for what they cannot do !

But , I think all religions are same ! In the end , whatever floats your boat ....I don't rely on religion much , becoz it never helped me practically in life

I am sorry if I sound rude , but the fact is sly people , like pakistani govt have habit of using suger-coated words to make up for their wrong doings ! But , we always welcome step in +ve direction .... Please stop this nuisance and we will be very happy : 1) Pumping punjab with drugs ... our youth is suffering ! 2) mixing radioactive elements in rivers purposely .... panjabis are having cancer ! 3) also stop grabbing gurdwara lands in pakistan and ensure safety of paki sikhs from taliban !

No , thats not stupid question . Its just that many people have a habit of warding off such questions as "stupid" , because such Q's boggles the mind and its as if a person can't think over them ! So , as per SGGS , there was no matter or energy endless eons ago . There was no universe or space . God was in his nirgun ( without attributes ) saroop . Gurbani says he was in a state of sunn samadhi , in a self absorbed joy ! I don't know what joy that may have been ! Anyways , God somehow awakens from his self-absorbed state and utters a word and this one word starts the universe ... science called it big bang .. Now , waheguru has attributes .. Waheguru is matter and energy now . God has become sargun saroop ... SGGS says we cannot know why he decided to do this ...It was all for his own joy . but I think of God as a kid ... Why does a kid plays with toys ? for joy ! We are his toys .. He decorates some of us and breaks other .... for sheer joy ! I am not a naastik , but atheists have called god as "sadist"

Sorry , not much idea , except the fact that the ashes of the deceased after cremation are flown in a river , which is indicative that soul keeps on moving to next life ( as a river does ! )

Why do you think it would lead to genocide ?!! I don't know what you mean really ! Genocide of sikhs , infact , happened when there was unrest and media potrayed as if entire sikh comm was responsible for it ! why would govt attack its own people for no reason ?

How can being gay be disrespect to sikhi ? The guy never chose to be this way ! Why would anyone intentionally choose to lead a different kind of life , which is scorned by many and relatives.

yeah , because it reminds them that a sardar refused to convert to their religion and chose death over Islam ! It boggles their mind how can a person of other faith have such a firm stand !

We really don't need it ! I speak on behalf of many Indian sikhs ... Majority of Sikhs in India are busy in earning their daily bread and butter and poorer one direct their efforts to become richer . Besides , there is too much stigma attached to word "Khalistan" itself . The first thoughts that came into mind of many Sikhs in India when they hear the word Khalistan is 1984 and unrest .. So , in short , in India no one really cares for Khalistan ..

this is true ... I saw this happen when they protested against dera sacha sauda chief in mumbai . The police badly humiliated and joked upon sikhs !

The way things happened in India nowadays , I think muslims are cared for , more than hindus , mostly by congress party . Simple reason being muslim appeasement for votebank politics .. The uneducated section of muslims have many kids and so they get all kind of support from govt because of votebank politics ... Sikhs are less than 2%. So , why can't sikhs increase their population exponentially and get politicians boot lick us ?

Exactly my point .... And by doing this we are also making hindus go away from sikhs ... After all , hindus and sikhs are still cousins , same way as muslims and jews are cousins
