  1. Boys blames the Girls, this is pretty well established. However, Girls blame boys too, I have personally seen this happen. It's always easy to blame other rather than take responsibility for your own actions.
  2. +1 to that! Gristi does not only mean marrying and having kids etc. In a broader sense, it means being a contributor to Society. Also, taking care of parents, especially as get old is a mahan seva! After talking to a few Gursikhs I firmly believe that a married life is a must in Kaljug. It only makes things easier as it gives you goals to set both at a worldly level and at a spiritual level as well. Not to mention it keeps you occupied. There is a saying in Punjabi, khali man shaitaan da ghar hunda. Translation: an idle mind is the devil's workshop. The concept in Sikhi is not to shun all worldly activities, that is sanatan thinking. The concept is clearly defined in Gurbani hwQ pwau kir kwmu sBu cIqu inrMjn nwil ]213] haathh paao kar kaam sabh cheeth nira(n)jan naal ||213|| With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your consciousness remain with the Immaculate Lord. ||213|| Whether you get married and lead a gristi life or not, life will always present it's challenges. It is childish to think that if one is not married then the amount of problems will magically be reduced. They will still come, albeit in a different form. Every challenge is there to be faced and to overcome, this makes you as a person stronger and helps in the long run.
  3. Yes stick to the iPhone with it's extremely closed environment. No thank you, I'm fed up of being told how to use my phone. :dry2: I also have an extreme dislike for iTunes. Case in point, I bought a movie from iTunes. It downloaded it, but with DRM protection. So I can't play the movie using any other player on my computer! Only iTunes can play it. So how do I play it on my TV you ask? I have to buy Apple TV !!! It's like I offered Apple a finger and it wants to swallow me whole...I'll pass.
  4. 1. Somewhere in the app, it must be mentioned that the app was developed for a "Sikhsangat.com parchar" competition Please ignore the pictures, the app does NOT need to do anything with any other apps out there right now. Although, implementing something like a dropbox may serve to enhance your app. It is definitely not a requirement. I hope that clarifies the requirements
  5. Unlike most Android phones, Galaxy Nexus does not offer a microUSB card option. The phone has been built to offer what is known as Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). So when you connect the phone to your PC, it will not be exposed as a USB drive. Instead the phone acts as a network drive so you can still drag and drop files from your PC to the phone. What I am not clear on is that does the protocol only allow transfer of media files as it's name implies? Can I copy say a PDF document to my phone using this MTP thing. Does anyone have any info on this? It is my understanding that Honeycomb, last major release of Android for tablets also employed MTP. Most tablets out there are using Honeycomb. So this question can probably be answered by anyone who has a Galaxy Tab or a Xoom slate as well. I'm looking at you balait_da_sher
  6. There is a lot of buzz around the upcoming Galaxy Nexus phone which will vanilla Android. I currently own an iPhone but thinking of switching. Please share your thoughts on ICS and the phone itself. PS. If you are in Canada, Bell and Virgin Mobile Canada have announced that the phone will be available December 8.

    Lost Weight

keri physical strength...mara jeha tidh dukhan lagda ta bandey nu apni ma chetey aa jandi. Translation, what physical strength, our stomach starts hurting a little and we go crying to our mama lol Feeling vulnerable is expected when you have lost that much weight without actually trying to loose weight. I have gone through this myself (albeit in a smaller scale) so I can relate. The problem isn't that you have lost weight but the the fact that your confidence is absolutely linked to your size. So you are seeing yourself as other random people on the street see you, this is never a good thing. I'm not trying to insult you, but I hope what I have said above will motivate you to do some self reflection.
  8. How much do you think your parents have spent on you since you were born? I assure you it's much much higher than 100k. As far as I am concerned, there is no 'lending' money to parents. We owe our everything to them and must do everything we can to take care of them. There is a saying in Punjabi, 'paisa hath di maal hunda'. Translation: money is like the dirt of your hand. One day you have lots and the next day you have nothing. Yes 100k is a lot of money. But has giving this money away made your life so miserable that you can not buy the necessities? By necessities I mean food to eat, clothes to wear, and a house to live. Since you were able to save 100k in only 4 years, you are fairly well off. Much better than millions of those who can not even afford to buy food 3 times a day.
  9. Com'on folks, do not make things personal. Play nice now.

The benefactor Lord listened to the cries (of humanity) and sent Guru Nanak to this world. He washed His feet, eulogised God and got his Disciples drink the ambrosia of his feet. He preached in this darkage (kaliyug) that, saragun (Brahm) and nirgun (Parbrahm) are the same and identical. Dharma was now established on its four feet and all the four castes (through fraternal feeling) were converted into one caste (of humanity). Equating the poor with the prince, he spread the etiquette of humbly touching the feet. Inverse is the game of the beloved; he got the egotist high heads bowed to feet. Baba Nanak rescued this dark age (kaliyug) and recited ‘satinam’ mantr for one and all. Guru Nanak came to redeem the kaliyug. As per Giani Thakur Singh Jee. Door to sachkhand opens around 12:30am every morning, stays fully open till 4. Then 4-5 it is open halfway. 5-6 door is closed but a small window is left open. After 6 even that small window closed. However, on days of Gurpurab's, door to sachkhand is open all day! Ajj sarey janey Dhan Guru Nanak japo! As much as possible
  12. Why the speculation? Only 2 entities know why he said those words, Steve Jobs himself and the entity/drisht which was in front of him at the time. Of course akal purkh jee knows all, that goes with out saying
  13. Are you being serious?First off your post wreaks of racial discrimination and secondly two wrongs never make a right. We should be doing a lot, but we'd rather sit on a forum and simply moan and complain without actually doing anything about the problems. :dry2: That's a definition of a coward
  14. If you do not have any point to rebuttal someone's response, do not start mud slinging at them. Discuss like adults and we can actually get somewhere. Try it once, just once!
  15. You didn't really answer my question though. By source, I was thinking you may say Guru Granth Sahib Jee or Dasam Bani or some historical reference.
  16. I would be very interested to know Baba Ji's views on this too. Dhanwaad
  17. When someone gives you a compliment, simply smile at them. 20. The blessed folks who have had partakh darshan of Guru Sahib always say that they saw a tremendous amount of parkash and then Guru Sahib appeared in a form. Guru Sahib Jee are only parkash, they have no shape. They only take a certain form depending on a devotee's shardha.
  21. West London Singh, for the last time, stop making things personal and stop with the name calling.
