Next time when you are in India Just visit Gurdwara Bangla sahib .You will find 60% of sangat Hindu .They all matha tek,and even do sewa at Gurdwara. Also the guy you have mnentioned must be a joru kaa ghulam .Hindu and muslim men never allow their kids to be raised against their faith then why sikh men are allowing it? If we have sikh men who cannot stand against their own wives then we have no future

Your post makes me laugh.There are not one but many sikh families that give complete equality to GIrls.No Drinking , partying, going out with girls Yet Girls Just go out find a non sikh boy and marry her.Look at Manmohan singh all his daughters are very highly educated and married to non sikhs One of my eldest cousin which was raised in 100% equal environment.her mother even did not go for 3rd child for the sake of boy.Yet when she went for a job the first thing she did was marrying a non sikh.

There is very little difference between Gifts and dowry.The practice of dowry started from gifts.One cannot say that dowry is only which a groom's family ask for because if a guy is getting married to a millionare's daughter he very well knows that he is going to receive plenty of money so why he or his family is going to ask for anything?
