  1. First pic is from Gurdwara Nagina Ghat, second is Sachkhand Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib
  2. I phoned up the switchboard and they told me to put my complaint in writing :|. why do they make complaining so harD? It makes it easier to pass the complaint/situation to other people investigating your case, you wouldnt want your case details changed as time passes, ever heard of chinese whispers? Take some time and effort to draft up a formal letter of complaint and hand it to anyone who you think will listen. You should find some information for you to understand your rights here http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/crimpol/polic...ints/index.html All the best
  3. If the teacher is from your own school then you should report it to someone of higher authority, if you have the names or badge numbers of the police officers involved you should report the incident to police HQ, write a statement of the exact events and persue this case forward, police officers are in a position of importance and they should not abuse it.
  4. from what i know the doors are originally from the hindus, the doors were stolen by the moghuls and the khalsa retrieved them back, when the khalsa offered the doors to the brahmins they said "we cant take the doors back because they have been touched by non brahmins" the doors were offered back and they denied them, so they are not entitled to them now
  5. does it really matter how big your kirpan is? as mentioned above mkhalsa has suddenly noticed his kirpan blade is not 9" and now needs a new kirpan, what difference will it really make? shouldnt the reason behind carrying a shastar be the main thing, how well you look after your shastars and how much abhiyas of shastars you have achieved, are you good in battle or is ur sri sahib just there because you were told to carry one by ur panj piyare, i have come accross a rehitnama which states "without training know your weapons to be poison", the use of shastars is more important then how big it is
  6. is there any historical evidence of sarbloh sri sahibs? sarbloh tulwars used by the khalsa or even any warriors in the past? ive been studying weapons for a small while now and ive never come accross a antique pure iron shastar any pics wud be appreciated
  7. Simran, the size of the kirpan has nothing to do with how well u will perform in battle, a person cud destroy u with a 3 inch kirpaan if he/she knew how to  Just having that chain around your neck is pretty pointless due to it not being instantly accessible, if it was in ur hand it would be a good weapon
  8. layer mask is definitly the best way to do it, get both pictures on the canvas, and overlap the bit u want blend into each other on the layers toolbox (where u see all the layers in the image), at the bottom of it u will see a bin, a page, a circle half black half white, a folder and a square with a white cirlce in it, click the sqaure with the white circle and u will see something similar to this appear next to ur image now highlight the gradient tool, (right click the fill bucket in the toolbar and select gradient), set foreground colour to black, and background colour to white, and then drag ur mouse to lay the gradient, jus keep applyin the gradient until u have the right blend
  9. http://www.lotusmedia.co.uk/sikhstudent/im.../Bank/index.htm are these the ones ur lookin for?
  10. Ryu, there are various types of self defence, and it is up to the defender how they wish to defend themselves, you can understand ur enviroment and annalyze danger then quickly avoid any confrontation, you can calm down a situation using words, if fists are thrown then you can dodge, push and run away, or you can break every bone in the attackers body, every person has the right to self defence and courts of law they will understand your actions as long as they werent extreme however if you take out your sri sahib against someone who attacks you, you are in much more danger of being locked up, the case in walsall market is an example. even if someone attacks you with a baseball bat, knife, gun to the head, sword, etc you can get out of it without using your sri sahib, its up to us to increase knowledge of self defence (doesnt matter which art you choose) and become the fauj that maharaj made us to be, being "tyar bar tyar" is more then jus putting on a bana and havin an aad chand on ur dumalla gurfateh
  11. khalsa ji, its easy to say "why didnt he defend himself", in reality when u are attacked you freeze on the spot, if you dont know how to defend yourself you cannot defend yourself, its simple. even as mentioned above, using your sri sahib, how? again if someone isnt trained then they are more of a danger to themselves, if the sri sahib is disarmed or drops for the attacker to use on them, then what? if the khalsa is akaal purakh ki fauj, shudnt they train for these kinds of situations? but anyway who needs to put in time to train and follow the hukam of maharaj guru gobind singh when we can live off the glory of our ancestors?
  12. can i just ask what is your stance upon home akhand paats, for example when someone buys a new house/funeral/birth they normally have an akhand paat at home, guru maharaj saroop is installed in the house for the duration, what if the family are drinkers?, what if the house has sharab bottles in the cabinets? has this issue been addressed by urselfs?
  13. palwinder, comb your kesh and let down infront of you, place a small peice of cloth (double the length of your kesh) ontop, wrap your kesh within one end of the cloth and twist so your kesh becomes intertwined within, now tie your joora as normal, put in kanga under the joora you will have the other half of the cloth behind your head, so bring it over to the front and wrap that around ur joora, u should now have a larger smooth joora which is very sturdy nice first try tho, mine was awful
  14. first make a list of all the problems u see in the world, think about the root reason why these problems occur then make a list of the main scriptures in the world and list how they address various problems, do these scriptures provide a cure for the root reason? if not then the answer to ur question is no if yes, then list why and how each teachin can be used
  15. tarunjit singh, if your from coventry you can go learn raag kirtan, and string instruments such as the dilruba from bhai harjinder singh, the lessons are on sunday mornings, i will get more information for you if you are interested
  16. www.akaalarms.com www.ashokaarts.com and coming soon www.toshkhana.com
  17. There is an arms fair in birmingham at the national motorcycle museum on 19th september, go there and you may find yourself a nice peice
  18. Admin note: As stated in our discussion forum rules we can not allow any of such arguments take place. If you want your question answered people contact the Akhand Kirtani Jatha about their viewpoint directly. Thanks -4
  19. Maybe because youve started wearing your dumalla and you are more concious about it and how people will react, any slight reaction seems big to you, its nothing to worry about your looking too much into it
  20. RSingh, Just because a website which has terminology which you have never heard before, doesnt make it fishy Ataamdev is Akaal Purakh Vaheguroo Ishtdev is our Gurus, from Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Nirankar to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj Gurdev is your teacher, whether it be raag teacher, santhiya teacher, shastar vidiya teacher Ataamdev cannot be surpased, nor can Ishtdev, but it is the duty of the Gurdev to make their students surpass them
  21. how exactly is nihang niddar singh RSS? is there any proof or are people just going to brand him that because they feel like it?
  22. i love the way you think mkhalsa, lets not bother about reform in gurdwaras, lets not set up camps and teach children kirtan, history, gurbani, lets just knock all the gurdwaras down :TH: lets destroy the house of maharaj, you wanna get the pendus to do it themselves or shall we call in the indian army?
  23. when i was at high school i took amrit and obviously had to wear my kard to school, but no one ever knew i carried it apart from a few close friends, one singh got caught and the school made him weld the blade into the mian so it couldnt be retracted, so the singh wore that over his shirt but had another kard underneath lol u must learn how to adapt to every situation, although you should respect the law of the land you must also stay within your own rehit, when you wear a gatra the kirpan has a tendency to move about too much, and you will see it under your clothes, but if u wear a kamarkas and keep ur shastars in there no one will ever know, u can keep a shastar in ur dumala/dastar too a kirpan/kard is for your own rakshah and other peoples, if its on ur necklace it isnt really going to help anyone, ull probably have to take the necklace off first and its still too small and butter knifes are sharper then it, next we will have people sewing lil tiny kachere onto their necklaces if all else fails, move to the uk, the police and everyone here is more then happy to allow sikhs to wear their kirpans :TH:
