  1. I was after the iphone too, I read a few reviews and they all said the same thing about too many viruses; however my bro-in-law has one and his seems to be running fine; if you do decide to purchase it let me know how it works for you; I'm due an upgrade!
  2. vaihguroo this has to be by far the funniest thing I have read on SS LOL awww sorry I'm taken already, BaBaG on the other hand is a free agent, any takers? Drop me a PM!
  3. I guess it's an individual's choice but if you are Amritdhari Khalsa's I think you should use Kaur/Singh as surnames, or make it a part of your name like I use "myfirstname-Kaur surname". So the - is used to attach Kaur to my first name so when people, at work for example, call me it's firstname-Kaur and that's used for all my accounts, bills, mail and so on. Some people may disagree and say that I should eradicate the use of my surname entirely because it may come across that I am pushing "caste" into the picture, it just means I will need to go through the process of having my name changed formally to just firstname and Kaur as surname. But to be honest I like the method I use.
  4. If you have nothing relevant to add to the topic in hand then please do not post!! If you wish to play games I am quite sure that there are a couple of live threads in the Fun section at the moment, please participate in those.

  9. ^^totally agree, siharee's would not be there if they had no need to be pronounced i have been learning Shudh Gurbani Paath from Bhai Baldeep Singh and he is gooooood! (GurKirpa) and sometimes in the middle of a lesson he will make us do 35 Akhri plus sounds and yeah it sounds funny when we're sitting there going "a aa o oo s(i) seeeeee" lol but it makes sooooo much difference and you can recognise the change. :WW:
  10. hmmmmmm not really a big deal as I don’t like mars or twix or bounty Lol, it’s all about whole nut! But yeah, it’s another reason we should strive to make our own food, so we can be extra vigilant about the things going into it, for all you chocolate fans, try making chocolate covered flap jacks or chocolate cake! Also as a general note due to summer, check the ingredients in ice cream, some contain egg and other animal products, and a lot of the time we take this sort of food for granted, so make sure to ask your ice cream vala man! Knowing our local guy he won’t be out now when we need him, come December he’ll start doing his rounds!!
  11. the 1st shabad is sung by our very own, very talented ( :TH:) Japman Singh, (member name japmans) I am quite sure he will help you out with the notes!

  13. LOL! Bhenji that is too funny! Gosh you made me laugh out loud everyone is probably wondering what is she on lol I have more of a stupid rather than embarassing moment from work the other day, one of my colleagues came and said "hey MY NAME, how are you?" and i replied "i am fine MY NAME, how are you?" After calling him my name I realised what I had done, so I tried to cover it up by keeping the conversation flowing, but it didn't work, lol, so he responded with "no my name isn't MY NAME,that's your name! my name is *flanna*" i was like damn!!!
  14. I don't know if this will be much use to you but it works for me; when you're pulling you're jeans or pants on, hold the bottom of your kachera (the bit around your thigh/knee) in place, and most the time it stays there and doesn't gather together causing it all to get crumpled up under your clothes and your jeans/pants should be fine!
  15. with Guru Sahib Jis Kirpa partake in continuous Sehaj Paaths together throughout the year
  16. bumppppppp well deserved recognition for our beautiful Bhenji! keep shining!!
  17. Does it really matter why? Its the owners prerogative at the end of the day, fact is its been shut down and fact is we have to accept that and respect the owners decision and trust that their decision was correct. It was a great site and I would like to express thanks to the owner for their seva. Its not the end of the world however as there are many other sites as mentioned in above posts to download from
  18. Something does need to be done ASAP about all the lousy posts recently. I mean we’re called Sikhsangat, what is sangat for? We all read Gurbani but do we understand it? Maybe I'm just being dumb but I take sikhsangat.com literally to be doing sangat, sharing vichaar, learning from others, being helped by others, being inspired by others, and lately all we have been getting is heaps of abuse. This place is an opportunity for sangat to collaborate from across the globe, its so amazing to read and know Sikhs are flourishing in different parts of the world, we can come together to help, share, learn, develop, yet we waste this time by being childish and petty!! we blame our parents and older generations for messing things up, but have we learnt anything from their mistakes? is this how we behave in day to day living? hurling abuse, sending death threats, is this how you behave when you go to sangat at Gurudwara? Vah, what a great picture we paint to visitors, is this sort of behaviour going to be applauded? will it get us into sachkhand with bright shining souls? what happened to Khalsa? the order of the pure ones? we’ve become so uptight about the purity of others we’re letting our own jeevans fall. so what if one person believes keski is kakkar or kesh is kakaar or raagmala is bani or not bani, why look at the differences? why not the similarities? you've given your head, your life, your everything to Guru ji, you do simran, you recite Gurbani, you do seva, you attend Gurdwara, you do kirtan, you look the same! the list of similarities is endless, why nit pick one or two minor differences? just because we are sitting thousands of miles away from each other behind computer screens does not mean that our words and conduct via sikhsangat does not have consequences. frankly if you don’t have anything positive to contribute then don't bother posting for the sake of increasing you post count. sikhsangat has never been about numbers, yeah we may have thousands of members but not even half of them contribute and from those that do contribute only a small % actually have something worth reading and learning from. sikhsangat.com isn’t a place for warranting hatred, abuse, death threats and foul language. if this is what you want to do then by all means go somewhere else. the Moderation Team are working collectively alongside Admin to bring positive change to the forum we hope, all, if not most, members will be on our side also God bless VJKK VJKF
