Like alcohol in cough syrops and stuff are required... and no you don't get drunk on that. Alcohol as a biproduct of oxidation in ketchup is a really slow chemical reaction... it doesn't comprise any major portion of the total content of the product. If we wish to worry about that, we should be banning eating naan or any other bread that contains yeast of some sort (yeast products react to produce C02, which is why the bread rises, BUT it does produce ethanol... sharab). However, the vinegar being oxidized from wine... since no chemical reaction is 100%, that means some wine is still present. I had a similar situation where a frozen dinner (vegetarian) package had listed "red wine" on it too... and I gave em a call and yes, there is RED WINE which has 12% alcohol, but it is burned off (gorai cooking) so there should be "very little" in the final product. However, be careful because I am saying "other religion", because they do not follow Sikhism -- and the Khalsa way. (similar to Nanaksar). My opinions: -they have guru jee so they should follow langar maryada -- True, but they really arn't Sikhs per se. - gursikhs can go there, but not eat the food because it's not guru-ka-langar -- False. Sikhs can go to a mandar and eat langar... langar is blessed by waheguru. - gursikhs should go there, make guru-ka-langar and serve it according to maryada -- I don't know if we can force our maryada on them... if we consider them a different religion. - they're a different religion so langar maryada is irrelevant -- True - they shouldn't have guru granth sahib suroop -- False. Guru is blind when it comes to what dress you wear on your wedding day. Mostly its been the groom side wearing a maroon dastaar and the groom with a golden colored dress and the bride wearing some really flashy dress (I've seen whitish to neon green to pink).
